Spent 2 days fishing the power plant discharge.  The bite wasn't red hot but pretty consistent both days, mostly browns in the 3-6lb class with a few larger ones, along with a few nice rainbows, and several carp were caught as well.  The guys fishing closest to the outflow were getting the most consistent action but fish were being caught all around Coal Park as well as the rocks and marina on the north side.  No one bait seemed better than the others, minnows, wax worms, night crawlers and spawn sacks all took fish.  Assorted Rapala type stick baits, small rattle baits and ..read more

TEAM KICK'R Sheboygan, WI 6/24-25 We headed to Sheboygan, WI after a last minute decision based upon the wave forecast for us in Indiana. We fished Saturday in 80-160 fow with 130-150fow being the best for us. We ran mainly  king baits most of the day and only ended up with one nice 17lb king and a few coho and steelhead. It was definitely a tough bite all weekend and most boats struggled. We fished on Saturday evening and Sunday morning for a few hours each time with nothing to show for it. I wish I had a better report for you guys but it was a slow weekend for us.  We want to send ..read more

Bender Park, Oak Creek 4/10/17 Monday was a special day where we were able to take out some of the reps from Daiwa to try out their new Great Lakes trolling rods. Luckily for us after three previous days of wind and chocolate milk looking water things started to settle and we found hungry fish. We started south by the power plan and picked up two big browns on a gold Flicker Shad just at dawn. After that things really slowed down. Our normal go to  bright colored spoons were not producing so we switched things up until we found that they wanted larger medium and magnum blue and silver spo ..read more

Limited out - Big Kings for June

Went on a fishing charter with Playin' Hooky out of Sheboygan and the fish were biting. We limited out, but surprisingly for June, we caught a lot of big kings. The bite didn't start until 6 am, but then they were biting consistently until 11 am. No crazy hot spots, just consistent fish the whole trip. It was amazing. I'll be eating salmon for a long time! We went 15 for 17, and most fish were caught around 125 feet of water. They were biting flasher flies and spoons. The hottest color was green. If you're looking for a charter, I'd highly recommend Playin' Hooky. Great guide and first mate, a ..read more

I don't have a boat to target the big salmon and trout in Lake Michigan, but I do know they come into the harbors in the winter and early spring. We were walking around the sea walls and caught four brown trout this weekend in Port Washington.   ..read more

Bender Park, Oak Creek 4/1/17 Finally got into coho for the first time this year just off the power plant. There was a defined mud line that ran at about 25 to 27 FOW. Coho were hitting orange storm thin fins on flat lines 75 ft behind the board, Michigan Stinger Carmel Dolphin off a 2 core and Downrigger, and orange dodger green peanut fly off a dipsy also took fish. We also spent some time fishing the boils but the water was pretty cloudy. Moonshine black pearl on a 2 core was the hot spoon for browns.  ..read more

Fished out of Port Saturday Morning.  Headed north. (three guys, nine lines)  We got out really early, which proved to be a great decision.  Between 4am and 5am we caught 10 king salmon, most on spoons, but the biggest one on a Flasher and fly.  (24 lbs).  We were in about 120 feet of water.  After that chaotic hour (twice we were tripled up), it totally slowed down.  Stayed out until 9am and only caught two more smaller salmon (one coho and one king).  Working on editing the video now.  Tons of boats out there today!  The water was 60-63 on th ..read more
