DO you find that the "surge" seems to fade and run from you as you approach it and the disappear completely when you enter the zone? Do you find you do not get paid the surge rate but when you ask the customer what they paid, they got charged the surge rate? I sure do. I have, of course, asked Uber this in more than one way on more than one occasion and still don't know. I like cube/box cars and found what appears to be a reasonable deal on a 2008 Scion. It has a branded title .....more particularly a Salvage Rebuilt title. I took it out to Meineke (even though I haven't bought it yet) and it passed their Uber inspection. I was on my way home today for lunch and got a ding off of leeds ave, when i got there i didnt see anybody so i called he said the guy would be out in a minute so after waiting a few minutes a guy brings a package out to my car. First i was confused and they guy told me it was an air conditioner motor and i was to bring it to his a/c repair specialist in Kiawah Island. Since 9/6 most of my rides that I accept downtown end up dismissed due to "unknown error". When a ride comes up, there is no ping sound immediately, There is a pause before any sound. When I accept the ride, everything freezes for about 8 seconds, then the app goes back to searching for a ride. Then about 20 seconds later, I get a message saying "Unknown error". Hello, My wife and I are moving down to Mt. Pleasant next year (March). I use uber to supplement my income only driving Friday and Saturday nights for the bar crowd. Do people in SUV's stay busy between Mt. Pleasant and Charleston? I see a lot of hotels out here and assume there is some work? I drive an SUV - Acura MDX and only do Uber XL in CT.
