Yes no way those are accurate. I understand in major cities, some people did move out of the city during covid but I don’t think I have heard of one single person in Omaha that did that as a direct result. Plus with all the apt buildings that have gone up in the past few years and are at near full occupancy, there is no way Omaha has lost people. It always puts a smile on my face when I see the park busy. It makes downtown feel so much more vibrant and like an actual city. Now I just hope that the increased foot traffic jumpstarts even more development down here. honestly, i don't think i've been down there (or just driving by) when there aren't a lot of people. And now there seems to always been food trucks. I figure if the business wasn't there, they wouldn't be there, so that's a great sign. Updated severe weather outlooks from the SPC for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (though that risk is just barely east of us currently). The Sunday outlook now aligns with more of what I was thinking would be the area at risk.
