I was looking at zoning appeals minutes and I believe that was approved a couple months ago. It's fairly new this spring. Statistics: Posted by almighty_tuna — Fri May 17, 2024 12:40 pm ..read more

It’s also interesting in the angle it’s at. I like it. Every other building in the city is aligned perfectly with the street, it would be nice to see some change to that. Statistics: Posted by skinzfan23 — Fri May 17, 2024 12:33 pm ..read more

Yes no way those are accurate. I understand in major cities, some people did move out of the city during covid but I don’t think I have heard of one single person in Omaha that did that as a direct result. Plus with all the apt buildings that have gone up in the past few years and are at near full occupancy, there is no way Omaha has lost people. I don't know what happened to the youtube updates that were being provided. The user hasn't added any new posts for the past 3 weeks. I just checked his comments on his most recent video. Sounds like he has a family emergency he's attending too, but will likely return at some point. hopefully everything is ok and it would be great to see a return Statistics: Posted by skinzfan23 — Fri May 17, 2024 12:27 pm ..read more

There is no way these estimates are accurate - are they? WOWT is claiming the estimates show Omaha has lost ~9500 people from July 2020 to July 2023. Where??? https://www.wowt.com/2024/05/16/census- ... utType=amp Ohhhhh I didn’t realize they were comparing to an estimate base of 491,000 from 2020. Interesting. What have the annexation packages looked like for the past couple of years? Yeah, I mean either way it surprises me they’d still claim any loss at all. I realize Covid made an impact and being able to work from “home” (or wherever) may motivate people to relocate but still. n ..read more

Goodcents opened a location in La Vista at 9810 Giles Rd. Also, I think they've dropped the "Mr." from their branding. I think it was over ten years ago when they rebranded and dropped the Mr. from the name. Statistics: Posted by DasBoot — Fri May 17, 2024 12:17 pm ..read more

Interesting addition to the mock-up of downtown at the Omaha by Design meeting today. i hope they know more than they are letting on, and a building with that height/shape/profile goes there. as much as i love downtown, it would be fantastic to have something that's not like anything we have down there. I'd take whatever, but i think that'd look cool Statistics: Posted by thenewguy — Fri May 17, 2024 12:16 pm ..read more

It always puts a smile on my face when I see the park busy. It makes downtown feel so much more vibrant and like an actual city. Now I just hope that the increased foot traffic jumpstarts even more development down here. honestly, i don't think i've been down there (or just driving by) when there aren't a lot of people. And now there seems to always been food trucks. I figure if the business wasn't there, they wouldn't be there, so that's a great sign. Updated severe weather outlooks from the SPC for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (though that risk is just barely east of us currently). The Sunday outlook now aligns with more of what I was thinking would be the area at risk. Sunday: Some uncertainty exists for the risk on Sunday including the potential for ongoing/lingering showers/thunderstorms in the morning/early afternoon hours that may degrade the atmospheric conditions for redevelopment later in the afternoon and there is also potential for capping issues. However, based on the latest NAM forecast model, the capping does break during the ..read more

Goodcents opened a location in La Vista at 9810 Giles Rd. Also, I think they've dropped the "Mr." from their branding. I think you're correct about the name - they had a location near us by the HyVee on 180th & Q for awhile. Before it closed I believe it went from Mr. Goodcents to only Goodcents.
