As a way to promote the series, we have decided to have a display of at least two or three cars to represent the Trofeo Series. This is on Sunday 11th February at the Ellerslie Racecourse. An Alfa Romeo 155 was spotted recently in the Historic Touring Car pits during the V8 Supercars swansong at Pukekohe Race Circuit (competing in the 2 litre group). Trofeo Series currently have 2 women racing in the Series Tina Glennie has been racing for over 15 years, Wendy Metcalfe joined the Series (as a late comer to motorsport) 10 years ago. Tina who includes being a pilot and jet boat skipper among her talents, competed first in the TI class (and later in Trofeo class) in her AlfaSud Sprint, before buying the ex-John Rhodes Veloce Class AlfaSud Sprint with an uprated engine. In February 2019 Trofeo lost one of its long-standing supporters, Ross Paterson a.k.a. to the Series as Nozzy. Nozzy was a recipient of the Bart von Geldern Memorial Trophy for Best Supporter in the 2014/15 Season. The BVG award is always the final award presented during our annual Prizegiving acknowledging that it is the People who matter, and who are valued for their contributions to the Series. And Nozzy mattered a lot to us. He will be remembered for his generosity and being great company. These 'experience' events are non-competitive track days offered as cheaply as possible to allow you to come along and have a go. We held our AGM and 2022/2023 Season Prize Giving on Saturday 29th July 2023 at the Ray White offices in Ponsonby (many thanks Hamish for organising that). We had a reasonable turn out with approximately 18 in attendance, although we would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend if at all possible. Remember, we are a member-driven series (excuse the pun).
