So some of you may know what happened with the 66 I was looking at. It has since been returned due to the lack of vin plate. The predicament I’m in now is which Impala to buy. I’m looking at 2 1965 Ss cars… car 1 car 2 any ideas would be great. I like first car for the big block, but the second looks more of a safe bet due to the updated wiring... 66 SS Anyone have a photo of the rear seat bottom cushion frame retainer bracket? I replaced floor pans and can't find the brackets so I will have to fabricate new ones. I don't remember what they look like since I did the replacement years ago. Now restoration is nearing completion. A photo would be very helpful. Thanks all ..read more

Gen light

I’m sure that this has been covered before but I just wanna check with you guys. The car is a 64 Impala and my charging system is hooked up like it should from the factory but my gen light won’t come on even though the cable is intact and the bulb isn’t broken. Could it be because of a previous owner has been installing an alternator with an internal volt regulator to the old external voltage regulator? (I’m not sure if the alternator has an internal voltage regulator since the parts# is... Gen light ..read more

Just purchased a 64 Impala. I know very little about them but always wanted one. I come from the world of Rotary's.... I'm having an issue where the Gen light on the dash stays turned on even when the car is turned off. :crying: I've hunted the internet and it seems it may of have a generator to alternator conversion ( I think, it's defiantly an alternator on there haha) Has anyone had this issue? I'd love to keep the gen light working if possible I assume its a wiring issue somewhere... Gen Light staying on causing flat battery ..read more

Come to figure out this spring needed one more wrap around fixed it. Originally spring was opened up, not real close to the shaft. If your spring doesnt look like this, close to the shaft, give it one more turn ..read more

1965 Console Clock

Hello All, Just wondering if anyone has had luck with console clocks, getting them started and some details as to their operation. I read somewhere that the clocks are powered only for the winding mechanism... I don't want to screw mine up without giving it a chance. It's a Westclox with 1964 stamped on it. Tried a little lubricant on it sparingly and nothing so far. Thanks ..read more

Hi- am looking at the edelbrock 2101 intake for a 69 327 but would prefer something less "badged". It seems Summit's house brand is debaged but appears identical otherwise and Jegs is close (can tape off the logo) Looking for any info on these (I believe they are made for them by NA manufacturers but can't confirm). Likewise, looking for any experiences (good or bad!) with either or recommendations for other sources along the same lines of a debaged Edelbrock. (Or alternatively OEM... Hey all, my wife and I got a 66 Impala to restore. It is a barn find and I have not gotten into it yet but I was wondering if there is any place I can order a replacement build sheet. I already sent a request to the GM heritage and they apparently don't go back that far. I am still going to get into the car and see if I can find the original, I just have lower hopes since it's been tucked away for about a decade ..read more
