A few weeks I questioned how David Buttress would maintain his position at the Dragons/Rodney Parade following his appointment as full-time CEO of Ovo Energy. Now we know. Buttress is standing down as Chairman at the end of June. The Dragons/CEO Graeme Bradbury is also leaving at the end of the rugby season. New faces for Huw Jenkins to negotiate and work with. This year now we have HJ on board we should play more home games and attractive ones to make some money. Play Championship sides, who will no doubt bring a decent support. I think this is how we stand with the 29 players that could be can as our squad and their status come the end of June when contracts expire. We have 9 full time pros already contracted for next season (if rumours about Will Evans are correct) and 2 youth.scholar players. We have 13 players who will be out of contract to whom we could offer new terms. We have 5 loan players who will return to their parent clubs although Adam Lewis will be out of contract and so a free agent. I have taken this information in the main from transfermarket.co.uk so there could be the odd anomaly with reality such ..read more

iframe As County haul themselves over the line after a draining, frustrating but also at times surprising and memorable season, we check in for our final regular episode of 2023/24. We'll have a full end-of-season review and some summer specials in the weeks ahead - but for this one we've got Ian Street's match diary from Bradford (a), and then we chat with Amber Arnie and Nigel Dutson about what they learnt at last Thursday's meeting of the Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust. In passing we mention that our 1912 Exiles sticker packs remain on sale, should you want to send us a few quid. A ..read more
