We’ve all been about slow wellness here on the Blogilates team. Listening to our body, indulging in things that just FEEL good.  This was a little manifesto I wrote for our first launch of the year.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by POPFLEX (@popflex_active) This year, wellness for me looks like… finding movement that feels good to me and fits naturally into my schedule. It may be a run one day and a slow morning walk the next. I’m also trying to build more boundaries around my schedule so I can relish the few hours with my 4-year-old between school pick-up ..read more

Feeling Like a 1950s Debutante Barbie

Hey guys! I really felt like a 1950s Debutante Barbie last night at the Asian American Awards Unforgettable Gala with my big tulle skirt and tall white gloves! First time ever wearing a petticoat and wow WAS IT HEAVY. Also, I always kinda wanted to know what a dress that couldn’t fit into a car looked like and well, now I know. Oh but you know what I don’t know? How do you pee? No seriously though! How did the European ladies, princesses and queens do it back in the day…because I held it in all night. There is NO WAY I was gonna let that tulle touch the floor of a public restroom! Plus how ..read more

My current workout mood: 30-1-30 30 incline 1 mph 30 minutes   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Cassey Ho (@blogilates)   30-1-30 Treadmill Workout This treadmill workout seriously gets my heart rate so high, and in comparison to running (which feels like torture to me) this slow cardio hiking situation feels more enjoyable for my body! I spent yearsssss trying to like HIIT, trying to like running, but honestly, it always felt like I had to try SO hard. I also never really felt like I got better at it.   Ever since I’ve been testing out slow cardio l ..read more

Intuitive Wellness: Fitness Fad or Sustainable Routine?
Blogilates » Fitness
by Breanna Woods MS, RD
1y ago
You may have seen the terms “intuitive eating” or “intuitive movement” on TikTok or other social media platforms. Its recent rise in popularity is a response to the diet culture of the 2010s that encouraged us all to ignore our hunger cues and tired bodies and push through in order to look a certain way. Like most health and wellness trends, what started as a positive movement has gotten a bit confusing and potentially misguided as it went viral. We want you to live your best, balanced life, so we’re here to break through the noise and tell you everything you need to know (and what to look ou ..read more

What is cycle syncing, and should we have been planning our workouts this way all along? Few things beat that post-workout feeling — sweaty, accomplished, empowered, and energized. But, have you ever had a workout where you felt dazed and sluggish the entire time? Have you ever stopped and considered where you might be in your menstrual cycle?  This is the basis behind Cycle Syncing®, a method created by Alisa Vitti, HHC, AADP, and functional nutrition and women’s hormone expert. The concept came to life in the early 2010s and has since gone viral on social media (“cycle syncing workouts ..read more

We have all heard the refrain: consistency is key. Whether it’s about maintaining a clean house, sticking to a solid nightly skincare routine or calendaring your daily sweat sessions, routine is the best way to get results.  With that said, your fitness routine doesn’t have to look the same in a standard gym or studio all the time. Your Signs to Switch it Up If you’re wondering if it’s time for you to switch up your fitness routine and head out of a traditional sweat space, here are a few things to look out for.  1. You’re bored If you’ve been following the same weekly strength and ..read more

I Tried the Romper One Piece and It’s Pure Magic

Disclaimer: This piece reflects my honest feedback about the products mentioned. Even though POPFLEX and Blogilates are sister brands, this review features my own independent opinions.  Finding the perfect swimsuit is like Cinderella and her glass slipper. You know it’s yours when it fits just right and is uniquely suited to your fashion sense. But sometimes swim shopping can make you feel more like Goldilocks; you try out tons of different options before you finally get it “just right” and are absolutely exhausted by the end of it. My swim fairytale led me to the new (and highly anticip ..read more

Finding Joy in Fitness Helped Undo My Teenage Body Image Issues

Like so many others, my journey with body image wasn’t always easy. At times, it was incredibly hard to find anything I even liked about how I looked. With the new POPFLEX swim release, Cassey shared a piece of her own self-image journey and her relationship with swimwear. Her openness inspired me to share my own story.  Especially since it’s how I found Blogilates. And eventually, myself.  Although we all have our own struggles, I hope these stories shared in the Blogilates community resonate and help you know that if you struggle with body image, you are not alone.  Trigg ..read more

What’s the Best Way to Workout?

Every time we open up Tiktok or Instagram, we scroll past soft wellness girlies — women touting the trend toward slower fitness, which includes everything from hot girl walks to soft hiking to yin yoga to Pilates. But, no less than five minutes later, we’re hit with nearly the parallel opposite on our feed — muscle mommies. Think women (moms or childfree!) showing off their gains, lifting routines, and daily macro counts.  If you’re like us, this could leave you wondering…what’s the best option for me? Should I be slowing down my fitness routine or should I be hitting it hard at the gym a ..read more
