So, long story short, I want to get an EV for under £18k...
There are a lot of options out there, including 'newer' (if not pre-reg) ones from the Stellantis stable, and lots of people will encourage me to the Model 3 where they are creeping in around the price range (quite a few SR+ for £16k onwards).
However, I still much prefer the look of the Model S. I prefer the hatch of the S, and would generally expect it to be far more roomy for a family car. Granted, it's massive, but it has a...

I've just had the driver side door handle replaced by Tesla as it started to fail. It's apparently the gen3 version according to Tesla but I've only noticed after the ranger has come and gone that the handle is quite noisy when going in and out. It's like you can hear the whirring of the mechanism when it is going in and out.
Is this normal for the gen 3 handles? It doesn't sound normal ..read more

Just had a message on the dash to replace the battery fuse. Had a quick look on the internet and it seems that this relates to the main battery pyro fuse. It appears that the car’s software has a timed message to alert after 7yrs 6 months. Has anyone had this message yet in the UK ? . Looking at the issue over in America Tesla seem to be treating this as part of the battery and drivetrain warranty and are not charging a fee. Grateful to hear if anyone in the UK has had this alert and if you...

I've got a used Model S which is well out of warranty (the general warranty). I know it is common to have the door handles fail and I've been quite lucky until now but the drivers door handle is now flaking out. The handle gets stuck in the presented position (like it's gone out too far) until I give it a manual tap to move it in slightly.
Was going to get this service before it completely fails but was also thinking that I haven't had the car serviced in a while for anything else. Does the...

It's been 71 days since my last Tesla S firmware update. According to TeslaFi, it is typically an average of 15 days between updates for my car. Is anyone else noticing a lack of firmware updates? I have the S90D. I've been on firmware 2023.26.12 since 3rd October 2023 ..read more

Our first journey across the channel - Coventry -Ghent-Bruges return. clocked up 673 miles in 4 days, at an average of 356Wh/mi.
Charged at Maidstone, 4 sc's next to a Hilton hotel (has a nice mini costa coffee concession in main foyer) then onto euro tunnel - which we loved as it was so easy to use and fuss free. Just 20 mins to get across and minimal wait time beforehand -
Loads of room to spare as we booked in with the 'over 1.85m' vehicles (mostly coaches...
