Would anyone have any recommendations for turkey hunting on the west side of the mountains, or maybe any spots on the east side but west of Ellensburg? This’ll be my first ever hunt and while I’m hoping to bag something I still want to have a good time and not travel so far. If anyone has any recommendations it would greatly appreciated!!

hey everyone, i hope this is a good place to ask, but i was wondering if anybody would be willing to offer up their dump site locations or any skulls/skeletons i could have. i collect skulls/bones and i articulate skeletons, it would be really cool to be able to articulate a small deer or any other medium to small sized game animal, i can just never find them myself, and i don’t hunt. i can process and clean everything myself as long as it isn’t too massive. i’m in western wa, a little west of seattle. thanks in advance!

Does anyone know how to apply for these locations:
https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/special-hunts/st-helens-elk
Is it just by selecting the unit as part of a special elk hunt tag (i.e. quality elk) or is there a separate special hunt permit just for one of these tags?
I think one of these one would a really interesting and unique hunt. The St. Helens and Mt. Margaret back country areas are some of my favorite places in this state to hike around in.

Hey all! I’ll be going with a friend opening week for spring turkey, want to plan a fall deer hunt and might get a few small game hunts in between as well. What would be the cheapest tags to get to maximize the species I can hunt? TIA

Looking for invasive species that are actually harmful for the local ecosystem.
I went down the rabbit hole of people hunting Burmese pythons, iguanas and spearing invasive fish species in Florida and was wondering what the equivalent of that might be in my local area. I understand that we are probably not nearly as ecologically diverse as Florida in that regard though.

I stumbled upon this site.
Duplicate hunter education certificates | Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife
It says I would need to spend $8 on a duplicate hunting cert before I can buy a license since I don't have a hunting license from last year.
I couldn't find much information about this on reddit on any other forums so I was wondering if you really needed to spend $8 on it considering there's no such requirement when I try to buy license on https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/

Not sure if this is even the right sub to post this in, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Got a massive problem with yellow-bellied marmots at my cabin, I've been (slowly) working on exterminating them when I can. They're huge nuisances, as they dig holes and such in the yard that grand parents trip and stumble on. Just wondering what other's experiences are with them and what ammo would be most effective. I've tried a .177 and .22 cal air guns, and had trouble with them because they're not consistently accurate, I've struggled with my lever action .22 rifle, I hit them, but it's not a kill s ..read more
