Yes, we did it. Initially a customer requested a headless instrument. Since we haven’t done this before we started searching for hardware which could handle the bass and guitar strings. Our friends from Mera Guitars (http://www.meraguitars.com/) from Ukraine could provide this. We took the Nova pickups (https://www.nova-pickups.com/) formerly known as Haven for this build and added a classic 5-way strat-style switch. A Darkglass tone capsule completes the setup. It can’t get more custom as this guitar. The customer asked for a lot of stuff. First of all she wanted a wild maple top, nothing seriously lined up in greyburst. The body is made out of korina but she asked if there is a chance to kind of puple-ize it. The result is just crazy. Next up she asked for quarter tone frets. This time a long time customer asked for a special build. He likes Stratocasters and the look and this sonic blue monster is the result. We redesigned the headstock to make it more stratty and asked our friends from Cycfi Research for white pickups which is the first time they did it. Stefan Huth did a playthrough of the song “count your losses” by the band TEMIC. This example perfectly shows the possibility of playing low heavy prog pieces on Touch Guitars® even with regular bass techniques. He uses his T8 model as a bass supplement on this one.
