I was wondering how long you need to wait after a burn until you see greater morel production. Is it not until a year after or could you go a couple weeks after a prescribed burn? Having trouble finding black morels? I did too until I figured out what trees they associate with. Tulip, cherry, hickory and aspen are my go to in northern Indiana. One of my best black spots has cherry and walnut trees mixed, a spot most people would walk right past. Pick 100 out of that spot on good years, 20 on bad years. 10 years ago I could have included ash trees on the list but most are dead unfortunately ..read more
