According to the World Health Organization self-care is defined as "the ability of individuals, families and communities to maintain and promote health, prevent disease, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider.” That is a lot to think about and we all have limited time so let’s get to the point, right? We know we need self-care but what does that look like in our own lives? We have so many various demands each day not to mention trying to stay afloat during a pandemic. I’m feeling stressed just thinking about this past year and a half. Here ..read more

Just like that...we experienced one of the most challenging and uncertain years of our lives. I am just going to say it. Moms need extra this year. The past year we tried. Like, really hard. We outweighed risks, we tried to be safe and prioritize our children’s mental health as well. We worked from home while watching our children wrestle in the background. We encouraged our kids to hang in there for one more hour on zoom. We cried watching the news. We lost sleep some nights. We felt judged for Every. Single. Decision. So this year? We need extra love. We need extra snuggles from our family ..read more

You may remember when you rode your bike for the first time. You may remember your first prom or your first kiss. And sometimes you remember when you first began losing hair. I was getting ready to drop my son off at preschool when I recall running a brush through my hair. Clumps of hair had come out and I was shocked when I looked in the mirror and found my hairline thinning. I continued to lose hair over the next few months. I remember texting my best friend in tears as I struggled to understand why this was happening. There are many causes of hair loss that include hereditary hair loss, age ..read more

It is a bittersweet journey down memory lane as I scroll through the pictures on my phone and see our sweet family pet.
You, our dear fur baby, were with me before I met my husband, before we had a house, or kids. You were with me when I lived on my own, offering me comfort and companionship and unconditional love. You were with me as my husband and I joined lives together and his feisty, ornery dog would be your newfound playmate. You were beside me as I laid in bed, pregnant with twins, and months later at my feet during those midnight feedings. You laid with our kids when they would be sick ..read more

Our family fell in love with Hocking Hills years ago. Whether it be the trails, waterfalls, and endless places to explore, we find ourselves drawn to the area. We opened up a family business of cabins and one of the most frequently asked question is always: where should we eat?
We included a list of places we have tried and loved. We hope this helps as you plan a relaxing getaway to Hocking Hills.
Chelle’s 33 Diner: Full-service restaurant, also providing carry out, catering, and banquet service. Serving breakfast all day and offer lunch and dinner specials. Plenty of parking for trailers and ..read more

This year is unlike any year for all of us. Usually my immediate family hosts Thanksgiving and my sister’s family, brother in law’s family, and parents join us. It is a day filled with noise, laughter, chaos, love, and memories. Our boys love spending the day with their cousins and I savor finally earning a spot at the adult table. However, as Thanksgiving approached our plans changed and we ended up deciding to just have Thanksgiving with our immediate family.
Every parent knows there are a million moments throughout the day with kids. Moments that bring tears t ..read more

Recommended Places to Visit at Hocking Hills
Little Kids and Up
, Ash Cave: The scenery is breathtaking. Not only can you explore caves but there is a waterfall at the end of the trail. This trail is extremely easy for kids, pets and parents to walk. The kids love sliding down a natural slide and walking by the waterfall.
,Muddy Boots,: An interactive farm experience where the kids pet and feed animals. This outdoor activity features feeding rabbits all the way to camels. We found a neat pond on the farm as well and the kids loved pointing out the fish.

This is a sponsored post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own
There are many reasons you decide to help someone in need. Maybe your sister just had a baby. Maybe your father broke his arm. Maybe your best friend just moved. Maybe a neighbor is going through health issues. Maybe a coworker is grieving over a recent loss.
Our first instinct is to help. When we see a loved one overwhelmed, injured, or going through hardship we want to help them navigate the unfamiliar journey ahead. I will never forget the support that others offered me after my dad passed away last year. Knowing that I do n ..read more
