Love cold brew coffee, but hate making it?
You can make cold brew coffee several different ways. Most methods involve grinding and measuring coffee beans followed by a ton of cleanup. At Charlie Royal we say throw away those dirty hard to clean steel filters and stained cotton bags. Stop buying single use capsules and concentrated sludge. You no longer need measuring devices, strainers, cheese cloth or a fresh press in order to make your cold brew coffee.
Watch this quick video to see how easy it is to make Charlie Royal cold brew.

With MLB baseball in full swing and the NFL football season just starting, everyone knows Its officially tailgating season. One of our favorite tailgating game is obviously Cornhole, so we figured we would design a set of bright orange cornhole boards and plaster Charlie's face all them. We teamed up with our friends over at Tosso.com to make this magic happen.
To win these, all you need to do is signup for our email newsletter. You should see the icon to signup in the lower left corner of our website. Join the hundreds of people that currently make up Charlie's crew.  ..read more

I got the great pleasure of judging the Cold Brew Championships at Coffe Fest 2022 in New York City. Not only did I get to taste some of the best cold brews in the world, I got the meet the people behind them. This is inspiration for my company Charlie Royal, to be even more innovating in the coffee space.
Yes. I had the arduous task of tasting copious amounts of cold brew coffee and deciding what is the best within the competition. I’ve been fortunate & grateful enough to judge in this championship twice now and I must say, it’s way too much fun. But, it’s inspiring ..read more

What’s great about making your own cold brew coffee at home is that there really is no right or wrong ratio. Everyone will have a unique steep time or ratio depending on what tastes the best to you!
Charlie recommends a 2:1 ratio of coffee to water, but we encourage you to try whatever ratio’s you’d like, too! For some, making a concentrate (not adding water after steeping) gives them more flexibility later with adding water, creamer, or other dairy alternatives for what tastes the best to them. So, Charlie recommends starting with a 2:1 ratio, then trying out other ratios on future ..read more

The short answer is yes cold brew coffee is less acidic. Several scientific studies have shown that cold brew coffee may provide antioxidants, & also helps with stomach related issues since it is lower in acidity.
Our co-owner, Nick Martin, introduced cold brew coffee into his lifestyle when he needed to make changes to his health. Regular coffee was typically too acidic and would flare up his acid reflux immediately. Upon making the switch over to cold brew coffee, he discovered that his acid reflux didn’t come into play anymore.  ..read more

Simply put, cold brew is coffee grounds steeped in room temperature (or cold) water for an extended amount of time - typically somewhere between 12-24 hours. Because there is no heat involved in this process, it allows the solubles in coffee to dissolve fully; resulting in coffee that's lower in acidity, sweeter in taste, smoother to consume, and typically little to no bitter taste.
