An African safari is a bucket list destination for many people and we could talk for hours, days, maybe even weeks about our trip to Uganda. This is part of our new series where we highlight “easy” weekend trips. We’re part of the 9-5ers that are just looking to use our PTO in the best way possible. Weekend trips are a great way to start to get out there with minimal planning (because it's just a short trip). Don't be fooled into thinking all the travel deals happen in the shoulder seasons. While there are cheaper times to travel, you can still find some gems if you have to travel during the busy seasons. Here's a breakdown of how we spent Christmas in Porto, Portugal and Vigo, Spain for under $2000.
We used Going and got an alert for our flights
Our Marriott Account and Capital One Venture X paid for our hotels (all but $50)
Our bus/train ticket from Porto to Vigo and back again was $40 a piece.
