Last summer, I embarked on my first ever cruise: 10 days sailing in the Mediterranean with stops in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. While it was amazing, the truth is 10 days was probably too ambitious for my first cruise as by Day 3, I definitely felt antsy.  Regardless, some of my favorite memories were made around meal time and If you’ve been on a cruise before, you’ve surely experienced the hospitality and above-and-beyond attitude most crew members have. BUT, this post isn’t about last years Mediterranean Cruise but about my second Mediterranean Cruise, this time it was virtual… Let me ex ..read more

I’ve been in LA more than 2 years now and while I’ve had many delicious and unique experiences, Afternoon Tea was one that I put off because most of the recommended places were either a bit of a drive or pretty pricey. And if you’re anything like me, you take your time doing extensive research before picking a place! I read reviews, compared menus, compared price points, read as many “Best Afternoon Tea in LA” lists, and so on. Finally, I settled on Garden Tea at The Getty Villa. Reservations book up 3 months in advance but it was worth the wait!  Here are reasons you should book afternoo ..read more

Our first introduction to Hawaii was in 2022 when we picked Maui as our honeymoon / first year anniversary destination. We loved the slower pace of life and the laid back feel and the Maui sunsets? Nothing like it. Oahu was a completely different experience! Waikiki felt like the Vegas of Hawaii with endless hotels, luxury stores, chain restaurants, and people trying to sell you tours on almost every main street corner. Regardless, we had an amazing time and are so grateful for your recommendations. With only 6 nights there, we had to narrow down the places we visited on the recommended list b ..read more

This January will be my husband and I’s first time visiting Oahu and while using Google to search for things to do are great, it’s even better to hear from people who either live there or love visiting! I asked for recommendations on my Instagram stories and was blown away by the response. Not only did I get recommendations but people wrote me full on GUIDES. The very first island we visited was Maui and we loved it but I can tell from your passionate responses that Oahu is something special. Here’s where you recommended we eat and what you recommended we do! Please let me know if there are an ..read more

In-N-Out was always on top of my food list whenever I visited California growing up. When I eventually moved here, I grew to love them even more and found new ways to enjoy my favorite fast food burger… although, let’s be honest, there’s nothing fast about In-N-Out as drive-thru line-ups are long all day! When I heard that a book was going to be released, I pre-ordered mine and then finished reading it in 2 days. Now, not only do I love the food but I love the story and the heart behind this beloved burger joint. Here are some fun facts I learned from the book and from attending their 75th ann ..read more

Sunsets are one of my favorite things to witness each day so when I can combine sunsets with good food, I know it’s going to be a great night! 71Above is, as the name implies, on the 71st floor of the US Bank Tower, approximately 950 feet above the hustle and bustle of downtown LA. The atmosphere is upscale and romantic making it the perfect place for date night or a special celebration. As you step into the sleek, modern space, the floor-to-ceiling windows command attention, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city’s skyline. The view left us speechless! Here’s what you need t ..read more

Ensaymada is a Filipino style brioche bun and traditionally, it’s topped with cheese. This is the only way I’ve ever had ensaymada growing up but Ensaymada Project in Newhall, CA is taking this humble bun to the next level with amazing flavors! For years, Chari, the founder was just giving these as gifts before she started selling them out of her garage. It’s no surprise that she’s since outgrown her garage and now has a separate home for her goodies and has even started shipping them nationwide. Leading the operation today is Chef Joey who brings pastry experience from Michelin star restaura ..read more

We did it! We became a community of 10k followers on Instagram! This may seem like small bananas compared to tons of great food accounts, but to me, it’s a milestone worth celebrating especially when I look back at how and why I started. I started this account after recovering from heartbreak. While I was in that relationship, I completely lost myself so I could conform to the other persons preferences and keep the peace. When it inevitably ended, I went on a journey of rediscovering ME. I’ve always loved creating content ever since dial-up internet became available. It started with AsianAvenu ..read more
