Link to original article 本報記者彭詩喬三藩市報道 三藩市多團體組織國際勞動節遊行。記者彭詩喬攝 每年「五一國際勞動節」這天,灣區各地都有工人組織集會遊行,慶祝和紀念8小時工作制的開始。在全國多地校園爆發反對加沙戰爭運動之際,要求加沙停火也成為今年勞動節遊行的重要主題。三藩市、屋崙和聖荷西等地都集結了多個團體,要求政府停止資助加沙戰爭,投入支持本地社區和工人。 上午10點開始,三藩市米慎街夾24街捷運站附近集結上千人,由移民權利、工人和反對加沙戰爭的組織組成的多族裔聯盟一路大喊口號,遊行到三藩市市府門前。參加遊行的人群要求政府更多為工人和移民社區提供資金,而非戰爭。 遊行的隊伍中有多名華人,其中一些是旨在保障低收入和移民工人權益的非營利組織華人進步會(CPA ..read more

華人進步會工人代表呼籲僱主遵守勞工法,保障工人權益。記者蘇婕雅攝 從7月1日起,三藩市所有勞工的最低時薪將從16.99元上漲至18.07元。29日上午,近50個工人權利社區合作組織(WRCC)的代表在三藩市24街和米慎街交界的捷運站外舉行集會,慶祝這一令人興奮的消息。 WRCC是一個多種族裔組織的勞動工聯盟。集會用粵語、英語及西語三種語言同時進行。代表餐廳、家政、酒店、護理和其他服務部門的工人代表們進行公眾發言,表達在創紀錄的通貨膨脹時期提高工資的重要性以及加大推廣宣傳,提醒工人要知道自己的權利。 華人進步會工人代表司徒詠瑜表示:「這對工人來說是一個進步,但我們也必須呼籲所有僱主遵守勞工法。」除了提高最低工資外,工作場所環境健康和安全、失業福利和醫療保險等對於工人也很重要,「特別是對於移民工人,容易因為英語水平有限和不懂勞工法等成為老闆剝削的對象。」 進步會組織員陳淑怡指出,如果勞工遭受不公平對待或擔心遭僱主報復,可向華人進步會求助,就如他們的口號:「工人啊、團結啊,人人爭取不用怕!」 菲律賓社區中心工人領袖蒂塔·科里 (Tita Cory) 分享:「我以前在一家看護機構工作,但僱主不遵守最低工資、休息時間和加班費等規定。當時我覺得別無選擇,只能在這樣的條件下繼續工作,讓我很難過。後來加入了社區中心,我今年才了解到我的權利。」 拉美裔工人聯盟Trabajadores Unidos ..read more
