Space saver in 2019 Prestige?

I’ve found plenty of threads on space saver wheels and how to make room for them in the boot, but none seemed to cover the situation I find with my newly acquired 2019 XF Prestige. I simply cannot see any way even a thin space saver wheel and tyre can be accommodated in or above what might loosely be called the spare wheel well. Am I missing something or am I condemned to having nothing other than the 'goo' to get me mobile in the event, however unlikely, of getting a puncture? All advice and guidance on how to fit a spare wheel greatly appreciated ..read more

XF drive wobble

I have a 2015 2.2  Diesel XF on about 45k miles Car is in great condition, well looked after, but has developed a wobble. Very hard to describe but feels like every dint in the road is exaggerated, and every road without any holes or bumps, you can still feel an exra wobble as it drives (any speed) - almost like every few revolutions of wheels its going over a small bump. Its just been in for 4 year service and MOT, at Jaguar which is passed with flying colours, and they confirmed the suspension is fine. tyres all ok, apart from one which has a puncture repaired. Jaguar recommended balanc ..read more

XF Brake Hoses

Hi, Having a mare of a time with my 2011 XF 3.0D V6 Facelift Model I've got my XF on a ramp in a garage (Garage unable to source any) and can't seem to get a correct set of all 4 Flexible hoses, No stock anywhere. Main Dealer states Brake Hoses on 'Back Order' but have no idea of a due date. I've been supplied the incorrect parts from a couple of different sources as they have assured me they are the ones for my car, but still no joy.  Has anybody here had any luck finding or sourcing the four Hoses from the Body to the Calipers.  ..read more

Vibrations at rear

About a year ago, I took the car to the garage as I had quite a bad vibration from the rear when I was braking. It was quite bad on motorways and higher speeds. Garage recommended I replaced pads and discs. So I ended up replacing them all round. Problem seemed to stop however, at lower speeds, such as when I am slowing to a stop at traffic lights, it feels as if there is limp from the rear offside wheel, as if it is oval shaped. I have swapped the wheels and the limp is still there so I know it is not a tyre or wheel issue, and now the juddering has returned when braking.  I have jacked ..read more

Major Service Cost

Hello All, Would appreciate your opinions on the above topic. My XF is due its first major service since I purchased it and I have been budgeting accordingly in anticipation of it coming up. Having bought it from one of the Marshall dealerships, I thought it made sense to base my saving plan from their service price list that they have on their website - specifically, the fixed price service plan as my car is over 3 years old and therefore fits this criteria. So far, so good. Or so I thought... Last weekend I called to get the car booked in and was quoted a price far higher than I expected: we ..read more

Hi All.   Ive got a 61 plate XF S Portfolio. The car is registering someone in the passenger seats when it’s empty. If you put the seatbelt in it’s fine. Sometimes if you push on the base of the seat, the light will go out.   Would this be a faulty seat occupancy sensor?   Thanks james          ..read more

So I have had an intermittent problem with my 62 plate XF Sportbrake 2.2d 200ps. I will go to start the car and get a continuous bip bip bip, faults come up on the display, ABS Fault, park brake fault (there maybe others) and the car doesn't start. Take my finger off the start button and it just shuts down but the continuous bip stays. I have read the codes with my code reader, and cleared them, which are U0121 Lost communication with ABS control module & U0126 Lost communication with steering angle sensor module. The car has a brand new fully charged battery fitted. Has anyone else had th ..read more

DAB module replacement

The DAB radio in my 2008 XF has stopped working.  (The rest of the audio system works fine). My local friendly car-electrics guy says the DAB module needs replacing, but if I get a second-hand one (a new one is around £450+VAT - not worth it for a 10-year-old car) it will need to be re-coded to the car.  My local Jag dealer says that re-coding is not necessary, or indeed possible, and that if I get a second-hand unit fitted it should work.  Before I shell out £80-100 for a second-hand DAB unit, is there anyone out there who has any experience of this and can advis ..read more
