My alternator failed on Monday, luckily within 100 yards of home. I replaced it Tuesday with a remanufactured part from a local, reputable company! The job wasn't too difficult apart from the actual removal and Installation of the alternator itself as it gets wedged between the block/sump and the subframe. After a trip to last years Le Mans (sorry had to get that in ?)where is was very hot, my windscreen washer has been really smelly and flushing it whilst in place hasn't really had any impact. So I finally got round to removing it the other day and I've been rinsing with Miltons as I saw someone suggest on another post but there's still some residual smell. For people who have the blue screen showing instead of the reverse camera. For me it was the wiring harness between the car and the boot lid. Hi - my front left (passenger) side window is stuck in the open position. I was told that it was most likely to be a faulty window regulator, so I looked up on how to change that. I opened up the door today, but am unable to get the glass to go up (to release it from the white plastic clips). The black metal bar rises with it and off course can’t get past the narrow opening at the top - bottom line being that I can’t slide the glass up to repair it. I own a 2008 Jaguar XF 2.7 diesel. The windscreen, rear window and all 4 windows are showing signs of perishing through age etc. I have looked on line and cannot find anywhere to purchase the window weather strips (the external strips which lay against the windows on the outside of the vehicle). I have look at pricing for the rear and front windscreen rubber replacement and have been told that there is a danger of both windows breaking during the process. I am probably going to elect with... Hello all, I recently bought a non-running X250 Sportbrake with the typical issues of a dead battery and partially corroded BCM. I'm currently in the process of fixing it up and getting it running and have been getting to grips with SDD using an Offline version and a Mongoose cable. Possibly something else to worry about, perhaps? Not sure if it's my imagination, but the XF's transmission seems to have developed a noisy 'patch' at about 1500-1700rpm in some intermediate gears. There's also been a mysterious 'low coolant level' warning during the last 1000 miles. The gear changes are still very smooth - no slipping, jerking or 'flaring', just a bit more noise than I remember... So does the transmission fluid cooler have any 'previous'? If there is a leak... Hello! I've bought my Jaguar half a year ago. After bought I used it to go long distances to test out the car so if something comes up I can take it back that it has a problem, after the 2nd day in sport mode / race mode activated the error "Restricted Performance" popped up. Hello all. I have problem with the car. I got my gear shifter stuck up or down after long journeys, after sort journey all good, I order new one. I don't have any lights on the dashboard, just month ago was DTC light on, but I turn off engine and start again the message disappeared.
