For a long time I’ve been wanting to write. Write about the million random things on my mind as someone who is in her late 30’s. How I’m trying to feel like myself again after two kids, the challenges of juggling being a mother to two small children while also needing to do things for parents, and in laws. Even the not so serious topics like “actually useful shit I bought on Amazon” lol. Writing down my thoughts was the initial reason I started this blog almost 8 years ago. While I mainly share about food, I love you all for the sense of community and connection you’ve given me – it’s truly w ..read more

Kale Salad with Grapes, Walnuts and Pecorino
The Chutney Life

I’m going to start by saying this salad is heavily inspired by the version on Smitten Kitchen I tried many years ago and became obsessed with. Over the years I’ve made my own small tweaks, shortcuts and ended up with what I’m sharing with you all today. When I’m hosting and want something sophisticated, green forward and crave-worthy- I find myself making this. I prepare everything separately and right before serving- toss it all together. I always get so many compliments on this because of the well rounded out flavors! Tuscan Kale holds up really well so even if you chop it up a few hours ahe ..read more

Harissa & Feta Pasta with Roasted Eggplant
The Chutney Life
by Palak

This recipe is a true example of how the right minimal ingredients can come together for a truly complex and flavorful meal that is both satisfying different. I leaned in on bold flavors like spicy smoky Harissa and creamy tart Feta to make this pasta comforting with every bite! I tossed in a handful of spinach but feel free to swap it with some kale or arugula and if you’re not a fan of eggplant, roasted zucchini and eggplant would work great in this recipe! It’s a great meal to make and keep in the fridge for a quick lunch, serve as a side to a protein or double up on the veggies and enjoy a ..read more

Skillet Breakfast Potatoes
The Chutney Life
by Palak

I LOVE a good breakfast potato- they’ve gotta be flavorful, cut just right into small cubes, with a nice outer crisp and fluffy inside! I also don’t want to chop a million things so early in the morning so besides the potatoes- its just an onion and a bell pepper to compliment all the flavors- not too bad! The shortcut here is using taco seasoning because its quicker than reaching for a million spice jars- and it has all the spices I probably wouldve added on my own anyway so win win situation! These skillet potatoes are seasoned enough that just simply a fried egg or side of scrambled eggs is ..read more

If you’re looking for the best summer margarita, you’re going to love these Pineapple Margaritas with serrano (check out my video here!)! If you want a go to spicy margarita recipe that has a kick, and is refreshing, grab the ingredients and give this a go! The best part of this recipe is that it’s made in a big batch because cocktails for a crowd are KEY when you’re hosting. You can combine all of the ingredients (minus the club soda) into a big pitcher like this gorgeous glass one and all guests have to do is pour themselves a glass over ice, and then top it off with a splash of club soda. Weeknight meals are SUPER easy when you don’t have to turn on the stove which makes these Paneer Naan Pizzas absolutely perfect! The paneer topping gets tossed with spices, the pizza has this delicious spicy cream cheese base and then the topping, made with Achar Masala adds the perfect zingy bite! These disappear fast every time I make them because of how satisfying and full of flavor they are. How to Prep in Advance: You can cut the veggies a day or two ahead and prepare the cream cheese and thecha mixture a few days ahead as well. Just be sure to store them in an airtight container in the ..read more
