One of the excellent trails at Bogus Basin and you don't have to buy a lift ticket or even a trail pass to ride them! The smoke from distant fires has not creeped up to Bogus
until late this week! Unhealthy for all today and tomorrow so I'll probably head up there Sunday after church ..read more

Hey all,
My good friend vanished on his bike two weeks ago. We think he went riding somewhere out at Pilot Hill, Happy Jack, Roger Canyon or even private land near Laramie Wyoming. A massive search is underway and even the National Guard has been looking for him via Black Hawk helicopter.
He is 5'11, roughly 165 lbs. Slim build. He rides a white rigid single speed Ridley. He often goes on very long rides up to 55 miles.
If you have any information please contact the Laramie Police...

Thanks to everyone who replied to my Empire trails thread. I have that list saved. Now that the weather is heating up for my late-July trip, I am diversifying my plans. Does anyone have any swimming holes, non-Class III kayaking routes, cooler hikes (breezy or higher elevation), or local chow spots they'd recommend? Feel free to PM any tips you don't want to post online ..read more

This is one of my favorites! Located off Freddie's Stack Rock trail near the junction with Eastside and Sweet Connie, this narrow, loamy single track drops into a creek drainage and weaves and winds around trees and over rocks and roots for about 2 miles until it crosses Sinker Creek. Then I climb Sinker Creek to Eastside back to New Freddie's. It's so fun and fast that I only stopped once for a picture ..read more

We're going to be out in Glacier in mid-June. Wondering about mountain biking at the Whitefish Mountain Resort. Has anyone had any experiences you could pass on? Tips or anything to watch out for? Would you recommend?
Thanks ..read more

Has anyone ridden the Empire Trails recently? Are they interesting for experienced riders? I’m looking for minor obstacles and challenges, with more stimulation than green-level nature paths. A mix of blue and single black levels would be fun.
The results I found searching online are vague. If these trails are limited then I may plan to visit the Canfield system near CDA instead ..read more

It's been a long time since I was on MTBR. I posted a new introduction today.
I'm planning a road trip with my wife for the middle of July, from northern Illinois to Lincoln City Oregon. The purpose of the trip is not primarily mountain biking, but I would like to get in 2-4 spectacular rides along the way there and back.
I'm looking for singletrack and scenery, not downhill gnar or super technical stuff. I'm mostly a trail/all mountain kinda guy. Also, I'm probably looking at only 10-15...

Howdy. Just moved to the PNW area and want to spend a lot of time exploring the mtns of Idaho, WA, MT, etc. I know the stats are in my favor to not ever be attacked by a large animal but I want the piece of mind that comes with being prepared. Obviously bear spray is good to have. Anything else ..read more
