Climbed Corruption for a 3rd time on Monday via the highlighted couloir to gain the ridgeline to the summit. This was my 2nd time climbing this route. Primarily class 2 with a sprinkle of class 3 here and there. A great climb with a great partner!

Ha! Ok. Right after posting, I realized there were two pages to this thread. I just read about the jets so will add more. On my 2016 trip through there, I was hiking up from Betty Lake to get into Surprise Valley. Just shy of the pass, I heard a crazy loud noise and within a second, a military jet flew about 25' above where the trail crosses the pass, in an upward projectory. The jet had come up Surprise Valley. It was so close that I literally saw the pilots face for a nanosecond. I was able to get my camera out and video the guy flying down the next drainage. I often wonder what would have h ..read more

I just stumbled on this thread after crossing Altair on a backpacking trip coming up from Left Fork. From that drainage, I climb to the side of Altair and drop down just to the west of where that crater is... down to the trail that runs next to Betty Lake. The slide wasn't there in 2016 but was in 2020. There was another slide on the other side of Altair that also wasn't there in 2016 but was in 2020. Not on Altair itself but north and slightly east of Altair, less than 1/4 away. At any rate, interesting stuff!

Hi all,
I need to spend one night in Bohinj at the conclusion of our Eastern Europe tour in late May 2024.
https://www.sunrose7.com/
I would like advice on what Hotel Bohinj are good to stay in and what hotels we should AVOID.
Thanks very much!

Enos actually gets quite a bit of use. The 1st time I visited there was a huge group of boy scouts & several other groups camped there. Last time I was there we packed out a bunch of trash & still had to leave some behind. There is a "social trail" (marked by cairns) that gets you over there from the pass at head of the Loon Creek & the N. Fork of Lick Creek.

Thank you Tom. It looks like his website is in the process of being salvaged and put back up but who knows that that means. That was such a treasure trove of great information and just an amazing amount of outdoor adventure. Thanks again for your response and please let me know if you find anything more about Enos. There is a reason why there isn't much available out there and I'm excited for that. I'll be sure to save my GPS tracks and post them up.

Unfortunately, John’s family let his website disappear. All of the links to John’s trip reports on my website are broken. They did archive some of his website but not the photos or more importantly in this case the GPS track. John did have a 2019 report which has updated access information but without his GPS track. Here is the archived link: https://web.archive.org/web/20220525013 ... index.html

Is there anyone who has been into Enos Lake that can give some advice on how best to get in there? South Loon looks like the most likely route but it's pretty dang steep. Also, I was wondering if anyone had been in the Duck Lake route rather than through Hum like Splattski had mentioned. It was 14 years ago that he wrote that post and the deadfall/brush loading has changed a lot in that amount of time.

Any chance that someone has a GPS track of how Splattski got in there from Duck Lake? (see post above) I'm going in 08/10/24 and trying to figure out the best route/ how to travers South Loon. Or if there is a different way in other than South Loon. Any help with this trip will be appreciated.
