Greetings folks. If you've been accepted, then you've probably seen the items they recommend you study/memorize prior to beginning class. Most of it is related to the H&P, but there are also some abbreviations they recommend. I've compiled all of those items into a handful of Anki decks you're welcome to share. I also compiled some outside resources for med terminology (most of these didn't come from ISU's suggested course).
Assuming you have Anki and are familiar with importing decks, go here: https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks/ and search "ISU PA" which is how I tagged them ..read more

Hello everyone, question for pre-PA, current students, or graduates. For volunteer hours and non-healthcare employment hours, I was wondering how to go about recording and documenting them? What is the best way to go about this. Especially for the non healthcare hours, I imagine this is just any job we’ve had in the past. And so what do you guys recommend in terms of going back to see the hours we’ve completed and also going forward with future hours, and how to keep track of them all. I am just about done with the entire program at Idaho state. Unfortunately I have hardly anything positive to say about the program. 1st its super expensive, and half of all of your lectures from DY year are distant/virtual. So if you like to spend a lot of money to teach yourself then by all means this is the place for you. They treat you like a child. Attendance mandatory every day, even when we went to home learning during the pandemic they required us to login and put in an emailed code to make sure we were in attendance, I had more freedom when i was a freshm ..read more

Hello! Does anyone know if it's possible to apply for Idaho residency and get the in-state tuition rate for the second year of the program? I'm not clear on this from reading the website. I'm seeing that they won't grant waivers to out-of-state students for the first year, but it looks like if you live there for 12 months and are in a graduate program you may qualify to become a resident. Thanks in advance ..read more

Has anyone on here completed ISU's Latino Health Track? What were your thoughts on the program? I understand that 5/8 of the clinical rotations will be in high-density Latino areas. Where are these rotations held? And did you feel that your clinical experiences were equivalent to experiences that other students had at other locations that weren't necessarily high-density Latino areas?
Also, what do you feel the benefits are of having a graduate language certificate? Would it be enough to simply state that I'm bilingual on job applications, or does the certificate make a difference w ..read more
