A Stafford woman was found with fentanyl after sending her car into a ditch this week, authorities said. Nevaeh Richins escaped injury when her blue Dodge Avenger went off the roadway and down an embankment, partially in a ditch around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur's office said. Deputy McCaulley conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and found a stuffed moose bag, filled with fentanyl. A driver was ticketed after police say she made an unsafe turn that caused a tractor trailer crash on I-95 in Virginia. Maria E. Martin, of Triangle, was heading north in a Ford F-150 when she drifted from the center lane to the right lane around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, Virginia State Police said. A former Fairfax County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested for assaulting an inmate in the county's adult detention center in January, police announced. Nicholas Vaszil, 28, of Annandale, was charged with simple assault after police said he assaulted the inmate in the jail's booking area on Jan. 1, at approximately 3:45 p.m., county police said. An arrest has been made in a decades-old rape case, thanks to a lab in Northern Virginia. Jamie Dodge, 48, of Brownville, Maine, is charged with aggravated rape and kidnapping in connection with an attack that happened in Holland, MA — which is just outside of Springfield, MA the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. A 50-year-old man from Washington DC was arrested for stealing two electric scooters in Arlington, police said. Police were called to the 1700 block of N.
