A driver was ticketed after police say she made an unsafe turn that caused a tractor trailer crash on I-95 in Virginia. Maria E. A former Fairfax County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested for assaulting an inmate in the county's adult detention center in January, police announced. Nicholas Vaszil, 28, of Annandale, was charged with simple assault after police said he assaulted the inmate in the jail's booking area on Jan. 1, at approximately 3:45 p.m., county police said. An arrest has been made in a decades-old rape case, thanks to a lab in Northern Virginia. Jamie Dodge, 48, of Brownville, Maine, is charged with aggravated rape and kidnapping in connection with an attack that happened in Holland, MA — which is just outside of Springfield, MA the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said.
