So about 4 days ago my Oscar seemed to be getting spooked and darting across the tank randomly, which turned into hiding the next two days. (He’s the only one in there) I thought it was the shadows on the wall scaring him but he was fine with them for the past two months he’s been in there. (He used to have a smaller tank recently upgraded) I plan on putting something on the back of it soon. Other than that the nitrate levels were a bit high so I did some water changes and put API nitrazorb... Help! Oscar not moving or eating ..read more

hey everyone! I have a sick, Bristlenose pleco (Homework) in my 125 freshwater aquarium. Homework is not eating much and has a weird patch of somethin' or other on him. The tank parameters are 0=ammonia, 0=nitrites, and 20=nitrates; the tank has been set up for about 17 years. He's in there with African & Central American cichlids who are all sub-adults at this point, except for the Jaguar cichlid who is a juvenile. The temp. of the water is 76 degreees, there are no live plants, and... Pleco Illness Diagnosis ..read more

Hi, I have a juvenile flowerhorn who recently (within the last 2 weeks) developed one cloudy eye. He is relatively new to me as I've only had him for 2 months. He's been up and down with some stress and I've been doing my best to manage the situation. I've been maintaining water parameters with low to 0 Ammonium, Nitrates, and Nitrites. I was trying to maintain a higher PH (7.8-8.2) but at some point, probably during weekly water changes, it dropped to 7.2ish. I'm thinking this is... My Uaru pair are showing signs of disease after I added a ghost knife with no quarantine prior unfortunately. This is the smaller female who has it much worse than the male at the moment. My temp was at 82 but I turned it up to 86 over the last few days and I added IchX yesterday. Am I on the right track? What do I need to do ..read more

Hello all, I am worried I actually poisoned my precious MBU puffer. Quick stats: 400 gallon tank plus sump Daily 10% water changes with a large water change every weekend Water parameters are pristine and tested regularly. My MBU puffer is 12 months old and approximately 16" in length. It shares this tank with a few tiny fish as the cleanup crew. They are a few barbs, clown loaches, and neon tetras. All fish have lived together for the last 11 months. I have added nothing to this... Help! MBU puffer sick ..read more

Could this be a bacterial infection? I have a thread here that seems to not generate any responses so I wanted to create a separate thread for this fish. I think I'm moving her out. I have another fish that's been isolated that has been doing salt treatment but no kanaplex or Jungle Fungus Clear yet so I guess she'll go in there vs the other QT tank that just finished 3 kanaplex treatments. I've kept her here with the white mark for over a week now and she's the only fish in main tank... Red mark on gill cover and white mark ..read more
