I'm making a rice chicken & cheese casserole MY WAY. Only, instead of broccoli, I'm using green peas. The store ran out of broccoli & I was wondering what to use in place of it, so I thought about using green peas in it. This is not a copy of anyone else's recipe. If you've ever made a cassoulet, you'll know that although it is extremely delicious, it's quite an involved dish with multiple steps, overnight soakings, pre-preparations and whatnot and if you do it the traditional way it can take quite some time, though the end results are invariably worth it. I came across this recipe by chance. Apparently it's a tradional Swedish recipe, though I'm uncertain because neither ginger nor lemongrass are traditional Swedish ingredients, but either way, it's a recipe that grew on us and the more we ate, the more we liked it.
