My pup “Otter” of almost 16 years had to be put to rest last Monday. I was blessed with an amazing dog and partner. We were able to guide so many years and float many rivers. I drew a tag for unit 5 in Kansas. I'm not familiar with that area of Kansas so was wondering where there might be some public land worth chasing them on. I have mapped out some areas to look at but don't want to waste too much time looking through a windshield if I don't have to. I do appreciate all the conversation about OS’s and the need for some revision on our public waters. Thought I would change it up. I live in Western US but still hunt in KS quite a bit. Got home from 4 days of mixed results here in eastern MO Saw a parade of snow geese flying out to feed that was wall to wall for over 30 minutes straight and had strings fly over pretty steady all morning………didn’t pull a trigger but seeing the sheer number of snows makes me think there is weather somewhere and Clarence Cannon NWR will have a big bird count this week.
