Doing a little pre fishing season assessment and inspecting my fishing equipment getting everything ready to go come spring. I have two dedicated rods that I made up especially for White Bass. They don't have the notoriety of most game fish but for me they are one of the most enjoyable fish to catch. Hi Everyone.  I am looking to take my 12 yo son on a camping/fishing trip this spring.  I am thinking a lake in the Adks that requires hiking in would be a fun option.  A lot of them have lean-tos so that would be nice if not already occupied.  I have experience hunting in the Adks, especially the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness, but I have never fished there.  I am thinking about trying Pharoah Lake for trout.  Do any of you have experience fishing there?  If not, can you recommend a place a ways in from the roads where we would have a good fishing opportunities.&nb ..read more

Is there any good recipes that make a carp edible. And I'm not talking about the pine board recipe. I have tried to eat the critters a couple of times and was never able to finish the meal because of the nasty taste. I caught one once that had black colored meat. I threw it out before I even finished cleaning it. I caught a small one out of Hemlock lake, and the taste was terrible.
