Okay, the thread with DoubleD and his 8lb bass got me to pondering(no pun intended) about the small pond on our property. As I mentioned there, the pond is maybe 3/4 of an acre. Today my youngest and I hit up a lake we usually fly fish during the summer. The pass leading to it is usually closed this time of year due to snow. It’s a high alpine lake at nearly 10k’ up in the Snowy range called lake Marie. It had about 8” of ice on it. Two of my RV friends that have never fished saltwater and I went out of Cypremort Point today on a charter with Vermillion Bay. I’ve caught lots of speckled trout, but never redfish. 13 mile run to get to the flats with grass one way. First cast netted a 20” trout. in total we caught 22 speckled trout and 11 redfish.
