This week we finish our DTR series by studying Ephesians 6:1-4 to learn that parents reflect God to their children. The parent-child relationship is so fundamental to human experience, and it's meant to push us toward our perfect Heavenly Father, and his perfect Son. We may not be perfect parents or children, but God is for us, as Father and Son, in the gospel. We hope this encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening ..read more

This week we're studying Proverbs 5 as we discuss sex and singleness. God gave sex for marriage. So we can learn from King Solomon that sex is risky outside of marriage, it's good inside of marriage, and at all times God is present with us. We get obsessed with physical attraction and beauty because we're trying to cover up our ugly sin. But Jesus made himself ugly in order to give us his eternal beauty. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening ..read more

Marriage & LGBTQ+
Redemption Church Sermons

We're in both Ephesians 5:22-33 & Romans 1:16-2:4 today as we look at what marriage is and is not according to the Bible. We're continuing the "DTR: Relationships According to the Bible" series to help us understand marriage as a symbol that reflects the gospel. Anything outside of God's design for marriage communicates a false gospel. But we can also see that homosexuality doesn't send anyone to hell. A heart of rebellions sends everyone to hell until Jesus steps in to save us. Therefore, our message isn't, "Be straight." Our message is, "Put your faith in Jesus." We hope this challenges ..read more

Today we study Genesis 1:24-28 as we continue our series, DTR: Relationships According to the Bible. The topic this week is Gender: Male & Female. We're going to see in Genesis, and through several other Scriptures, that our identity comes from alignment with Jesus, not gender. Only Jesus can save us, not a gender transition. But on the flip side, Christians must learn to engage people with gender dysphoria in a compassionate and truthful way. This is a hard discussion, but one we must have. We hope this challenges and encourages you. Thanks for listening/watching ..read more

We're starting a new series on relationships! Studying John 15:9-17, we see a model for healthy friendships that Jesus himself lays out to his disciples. Cultivate healthy friendships with candor and consistency. There's a mutual vulnerability and a trust that you must intentionally build with a friend. Thankfully, Jesus is our truest friend. He was completely vulnerable on the cross and completely trustworthy to save us! We hope this is an encouragement. Thanks for listening ..read more

This week we study Philippians 2:19-30 to finish our series, Extremely Ordinary Christianity. Paul commends two fellow workers in ministry, Timothy and Epaphroditus. They're both great examples of living the successful Christian life. But at the end of the day, no one does this perfectly, except for Jesus. So pursuing success looks like pursuing Jesus. We hope this message encourages your faith. Thanks for listening ..read more

Shine Like Stars
Redemption Church Sermons

We're continuing in Philippians by studying Philippians 2:12-18. Paul comes back to unity for the sake of the mission, and tells us to work out our salvation in humility, but also to do it without complaining or arguing. We learn that it's only by God's grace working in us, that we can work anything out in our lives. What God works in, we work out. And the result is that we shine like stars in a dark world. We hope this encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening ..read more
