British Wheelchair Basketball are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ahmed Sinno, a dedicated member of Brixton Ballers Wheelchair Basketball Club. Brixton Ballers paid tribute via their Instagram: “If there was ever a player that embodied the passion and spirit of Brixton Ballers it was Ahmed. “He was a team player who was true to himself on court, never afraid to say what he felt but always there to help and assist others. Amivel Reyes Gutierrez (Abdi Jama, Kyle Marsh) were successful in the Qualification Tournament for EuroCup 2025, earning their place at next year’s EuroCup 3 competition. Amivel won their opening games 77:24 against Braga BCR, 43:80 over D. Junior Team Sassari, and 76:45 against BWB National League team Mohawks. Final preparations for the rapidly approaching Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are firmly underway for the GB Men and GB Women squads as the IWBF have confirmed the field of competitors we’ll face in just over four months. After an intense day of playoffs, Lothian Phoenix and Mohawks are the top two teams that will be meeting in the Junior League final at the BWB National Championship Finals in Essex. Enthusiastic teams and supporters headed to the Nottingham Wildcats Arena for a full day of competitive games, with all junior players hoping to extend their season and secure their spot in the final. We are excited to announce the eight teams competing in this year’s edition of Junior League Elite 8s. Mohawks, Aces, London Titans, Bears, Wakefield Whirlwinds, Swansea Storm, Lothian Phoenix, and West Coast Warriors will all attend the competition. IAG funds the education of two new BWB referees

BWB is proud to highlight the latest example of Officials education made possible by the Inspire a Generation programme. Funding by IAG allowed Jake Horowitz and Luke Rockett to undergo their Level 2 BWB Referee qualification, which involved online study, online conversion course meetings, a rules test, and a practical session in wheelchairs led by BWB tutor and IWBF referee Ben Wood.
