HOW DID MORE NATURAL WINE START? Well, we started before Covid, but it was a side project that took years to develop from idea formation to website execution... and as you may expect, Covid killed our old business (called Oooh, Berlin!) and boosted MORE Natural Wine to new heights... but it did not come without major challenges, jealousy from the natural wine industry, burnouts and problems from the above that almost caused the death of the whole business... AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW… on us, our background and everything MORE Natural Wine ? When we launched we did something new that ..read more

Domaine Villet - A New Generation & The Problem With Glass

A while back we spent the afternoon with natural winemakers Domaine Villet of Arbois, Jura and really found their story to be quite special indeed! You see, this domaine is going through a transition. The son, Natanaël, is currently taking over the estate from his parents Gèrard and Christine, who themselves took it on from their own family. The 5.7 hectares estate has been making wine for a VERY long time. They have been making wine since the year 1900 and have been chemical free since 1987. Does this handover cause complications ? Evidently yes, as different styles of working clash, and whil ..read more

What is a Proxy Wine? Alcohol Free Alternatives
More Natural Wine Blog

What is a Proxy Wine? A Proxy Wine is not an alcohol-free wine, as that is a wine which has had the alcohol removed. Usually through a technical process called Reverse Osmosis. A Proxy Wine is instead an alternative drink with similaries to wine, but usually with a Kombucha or Kefir background, so it is still fermented. Proxy Wines usually have 0.4% alcohol, which is the same amount of Alcohol found in a ripe banana. Watch this video on Proxy wines... and watch us rate MURI Drinks, Feral, Arensbak and Gnista out of 10 to see our favourites! SHOP PROXY WINES HERE ..read more

The wines of Francesco Guccione (Documentary)

Francesco Guccione's wines first touched us many years ago. There is a soul to his wines that have expressed themselves beautifully each time, whether it be his rich reds like Nerello Mascalese or the somewhat forgotten grape Perricone to his stunning, rounded whites like his excellent value Trebbiano or slighter more mineralic Caterratto. Whilst we knew we all loved the wines... visiting Francesco was an even more heartfelt experience as we learnt more of his biodynamic and low-intervention winemaking, and saw firsthand his love for animals. If you love classic style, yet naturally made Sicil ..read more

NEW JURA WINE DOCUMENTARY featuring Domaine de la Borde which is run by Julien Maréschal, a natural wine producer in the village of Pupillin in Jura - known for making excellent and precise wines and home to prestigous producers like Overnoy-Houillon, Domaine Bornard and more. An excellent jazz musician and a thoughtful character, dedicated to the little details, Julien is one of the most underrated producers in all of Jura in our opinion! Domaine de la Borde wines are usually full of minerality, and some of their vineyards feature 'Schist Carton', a particular type of flak ..read more

Alex and Maria Koppitsch may be smaller in scale than other natural wine producers in Burgenland, Austria, but their wines are totally unique and they have gained an army of followers around the world for their wonderful wines, which are a mix of easy going like Homok, Ret and Pretty Nats and also complex wines like Touch, Perspektive and the rather rare, A Quiet Soft Light. The family winery did not always have it worked out though, with a lack of importers at first which Maria Koppitsch discusses here. They have evolved from single-varietal wines to blends showcasing differing soil types, an ..read more

SUBSCRIBE ON YOUTUBE FOR MORE WINEMAKER PORTRAITS ? Meeting the winegrowers of Jura on our most recent trip in 2023, something became apparent.... The future of Poulsard is a serious concern for a lot of natural winemakers, as higher temperatures scorch the grapes sensitive skin. Chatting with Amélie Vuillet & Sébastien Jacques was inspirational in many ways for us, not just in their attitude to farming and treating the soil with the upmost respect, not even using tractors but also their innovative ideas to solve viticultural problems.   These rare wines sell fast... click here ..read more
