I’m not a huge fan of the Mayfly season. I know that might sound strange as there is no doubt that I’m obsessed with trout. Fishing is about peace and quiet for me and most of the well known lough fisheries can be very busy at this time. Having said that, I do enjoy spent gnat fishing as it can bring up the kind of trout that are unlikely to be seen surface feeding for the rest of the year. Bringing the Dog Fishing was a Good idea- The story of A very large wild Irish trout on the Dry Fly.  I published details of this fish on social media but things get lost in a matter of hours so am adding it here as its become tiresome taking nice pictures and writing only for an algorithm to determine who gets to see them. Last time I posted, we had really low water before the season started. What an unbelievably wet start to the season it turned out to be! I love a good drop of water for fishing but the Yo-yo floods we have had throughout much of March and April have made it difficult for everyone to get started into the new fishing season.
