One thing that I’ve learned from my personal adventures is that when emergency strikes, you rarely have everything needed, and you need to improvise. The point of this first aid kit is to treat your cat’s injuries, get them stable, and then take them to the vet. As an over thinker, I tried to make the first aid kit as extensive as possible – but keep in mind the costs, space, and reality (what are the chances that the cat is gonna rupture his main arteries on a stroll in the park, ya know?) The downloadable checklist is located at the bottom of this post! What we have in our cat first aid kit ..read more

Keeping your kitty indoors is the best thing you can do for your fur pal. You protect them from so many dangers – cars, predators, illnesses, and more… And you also keep wildlife safe! Did you know that free roaming cats kill 1.3–4.0 billion birds and 6.3–22.3 billion mammals annually – in the USA alone?! But hey, let’s be honest: apartment living can feel a bit…cramped for our natural-born explorers. No rustling leaves to stalk, no chirping birdies to pounce-dream about, just a never-ending game of dust-bunny catch and judging the goldfish from afar. You can transform our (humble) homes into ..read more

I love adventuring in the winter. But sharing those moments with loved ones – either human, or pets – makes those adventures even more special. Winters in Canada can be pretty harsh, so proper preparation is needed, especially if we want to bring Chumka along with us. I am still working on improving our winter adventure set up, but I am very happy with what it is at the moment. How cold is too cold for a cat? One thing I’ve observed recently is that we underestimate how pets’ abilities to stay warm. There are days where Chumka is sitting by the bushes, observing the birds, seemingly unaware o ..read more

I don’t know about you, but at times, I find it difficult to take Chumka outside during the winter. We often stick to short visits around the yard, as Canadian winters can really be rough. However, this winter I decided to find a way to make my cat’s backpack more “winter proof”. And the best part is, we won an amazing giveaway by Narlynx (@nar.lynx)! We got this amazing fleece backpack bag/bed which made the project much easier.  I am very excited to take you through the process!  The Search for the perfect layers I was inspired by another adventure cat account Lava (@meowdyssey.of ..read more

When you think of “adventure cats”, what qualities come to your mind? Adventurous, curious, bold… Well, my cat has the first two, but he is the complete opposite of the last one.
