I like to think of City Halls as pins on a map, and ideally shoot at as many of them as I can. You never know exactly what you’ll get - old or new building, fluorescent or window light, 90’s wood panelling or 20th century architecture. And even in the most traditionally imperfect office-y city hall buildings, I still find joy in shooting ceremonies there. Because its the nature of the ceremony that brings all the warmth and light that we need ..read more

Steamwhistle Brewery by the waterfront is one of my favourite wedding venues in the city. While it can be a heavily populated area during certain times of the year (hello, Jays fans!) inside is a wonderfully versatile space, and being just a 5-10 minute walk from the water is a major bonus. Within this one venue are endless possibilities for decor as well as portraits in the neighbourhood, everywhere you look there’s a new unique angle that makes it easy to get creative.
Greg and Ariana are truly best friends - you might even recognise Greg Langstaff from his fantastically helpful and popular ..read more

One might think that rain would stop an engagement with a corvette convertible car dead in its tracks, but thankfully Nadya + AD were the biggest troupers. The forecast wasn’t even calling for rain that evening, so when halfway through our session we begin feeling droplets, we didn’t have another plan. Everything is figure-outable of course, and we leaned into the moody warm summer rain. I love how a session can be so simple and classic, one location, one prop, one outfit, and still make magic ..read more

Natalie + Conor’s wedding can only be described as colourful and joyful. Every aspect of it from beginning to end was truly a pleasure. The only thing is knowing that there are two people THIS gorgeous and THIS kind that are out existing in the world as just everyday regular people. I still can’t understand how they aren’t famous.
I made the drive up to Prince Edward County the night before the wedding so ensure there would be no issues coming from the Toronto the morning of. We heard there was some inclement weather back west, but we had perfect summer temperatures all day. The couple got rea ..read more

An elegant Langdon Hall wedding in late summer always reminds me of an early 2000’s wedding rom-com. The lush gardens, warm evenings, soft colour palates and rustic hotel decor, with all your family and friends staying for the weekend, it’s all so nostalgic.
Kat and Mat each got ready on the grounds of Langdon Hall with their weddings parties, and eagerly awaited their first look in the sunny apple orchard. Their friends rejoined them after exchanging a private moment for some portraits in the garden, followed by their joining families. They rightfully chose Jeff Maeck (Maeck Weddings) to offi ..read more

Sophia and Raymond’s engagement session tied perfectly into what will surely be an incredibly Californian celebration later this fall. The two plan to get hitched at San Francisco city hall, and naturally that means sunshine, water elements, and gorgeous grand architecture. RC Harris Treatment plant continues to always give me whatever inspiration I need at the time. This time, it was less so Europe and more so San Fran. We plan to incorporate film photography into their wedding day as well, so each element of their engagement will flow so beautifully into their big day.

A Hotel Bar engagement session never fails. Especially when the bar is empty, and the hotel is gracious enough to let us pour a few “faux drinks” just for fun. Christina and Brennan used a favourite past time of being foodies and cocktail connoisseurs to incorporate into their engagement session, and the Park Hyatt kindly allowed us to use them as our setting. We then strolled around the ROM neighbourhood and utilised some of its beautiful nearby architecture to juxtapose the moody bar. And you really can’t go wrong with that patio rooftop Toronto skyline view ..read more

This chic, sophisticated, modern downtown Toronto engagement shoot is one of my all time favourites to date. Obviously, we are very much in Toronto. But the New York City vibes are just as prominent. The neutral buildings, light reflecting off skyscapers, hustle and bustle of pedestrians, it’s all just too delicious. Annie also made me want to run out an immediately buy an all black skirt/boots combo (my clients are simply too cool for me). While I won’t be able to photographer their undoubtedly stunning east coast wedding, capturing this session for them during their Toronto chapter was reall ..read more

To create for a creator is one of the greatest honours there is. Mel (@melhwang) and Dave (@seedavedo) originally considered skipping an engagement session, because with nature of their work (taking photos of each other as a job!) they didn’t really need any more photos of themselves. But that’s not always what an engagement session is about - it’s even more so integral to the working relationship you have with your wedding photographer. Getting to know each other, as well as letting them in on your love story, dynamic, personalties, etc. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to get to know these ..read more
