This is not rocket science and really is not a new concept. It seems in most cases the main ingredient that's missing is related to the attitude of AG operation owners / managers and government funding incentives.

Sitting here watching the sun rise on a nice crisp 45 degree Saturday morning. I’ve written many times in the past about the youth hunt put on at one of the local hunt clubs. I’m looking for some hunters in the southwest Ohio area. I’m hoping to get advice and possibly walk along a hunt with you? I won’t hunt just want to see how a hunter and his dog work together in person. I have a dog I’m looking to train and would like recommendations on training and everything else that comes with owning a hunting dog. Thank you in advance ..read more

While we were pursuing wild ringnecks in SW Pa., we met up with an Ohio hunter who was doing the same. He knew the owner of one of the farms we were hunting, so at lunch break we started a friendly conversation. The subject came up of wild pheasants in Ohio. He told us about farms that were being bought up by the State and managed for wildlife with pheasants a priority. Have any of you guys hunted these WPA's ? He said they were farms in the agricultural areas ..read more

This year I’m not going out of state to hunt, so I have decided the dog and I will focus on native Ohio pheasants. I know there are a few wild ones around and I’ll give it my best shot, but I m not overly optimistic. I’ll report back what I find. Have a good season ..read more
