On Saturday, May 11, 2024, my Sister & 3 Great Nieces went to the dedication ceremony in New Washington. Earlier in the week, the Weather Channel had called for thunderstorms all afternoon but, luckily, the weather was not too bad. It was on the cool side with a pretty strong wind. It did rain for about 2 minutes but all the seating was under tents so it was no big deal.
The turnout was pretty good; I would guess at least 200 people turned out. The Buckeye Central High School Band & the...

Hi, I am looking for some information regarding the 7 bows (and some arrows) I have inherited from my husband's grandfather, Paul Parmelee. He worked closely with William Folberth making bows in the 1940s and obtaining patents for them as well. I believe all seven are recurved bows. I have no idea if Bill Folberth or Paul Parmelee made these bows, but someone might be able to tell. I would appreciate it if anyone knows if there are collectors for these bows, or has any knowledge of them or...

This was my first Turkey hunt of the year. I set up on the ridge and had gobblers just South of me right at sun up. Unfortunately, they pitched away and would not respond. I had one other light up behind me. But he too went silent. The mid-morning was super quiet so I decided to hop on the tractor and mow for a while. At 1030 I decided to try again and had this guy back to the truck by 1120. Unfortunately he had some beer...

Hello folks,
I am looking into purchasing my first shotgun, its primary use will be to hunt squirrels, secondarily rabbits. However, I would also like my first shotgun to be a versatile weapon, such as being able to hunt upland birds and deer. I am looking at a few different shotguns, my price range is around $500 max, preferably around $350-$415. I think I have narrowed down the two best options, the Mossberg 500 and the Winchester SXP, I was also planning on purchasing a field and rifle...

I went out with my son in Leetonia in Columbia county Saturday morning. It sounded like four or five birds were gobbling as we hurried to our spot on a field edge . I hurriedly see up two hens and a jake decoy. I did some tree yelps and a fly down cackle and quited up. I noticed a jake and a hen decoy fell down in the taller grass and decided to just leave them. The gobbling continued until they flew down and went quite. The wind seemed like it was slowly picking up as time went on.
I would...
