I was thinking it would be good to know where we can't detect and where we need permits so we can stay within the law. I know I get out and about around the state and would prefer to stay legal than have the cops pull up as I'm digging a hole. Metal detecting is prohibited in Bexley, Ohio parks. Permission to metal detect in Cleveland Metroparks is granted for surface mining only. A permit is not required.
