You have watched my videos, you have hit the like button, you shared the videos with your friends and you subscribed! All 100,000+ of you! I am amazed that there are so many of you and I thank you so very much. Before I started this YouTube channel I didn’t know anything about making videos. Honestly, the only youtube videos I watched consistently were videos about silly dogs and cats or how to cook something or fix something. I didn’t know how to do any of it. But a few people convinced me to give it a go, so I did! I had to do some research and educated myself by watching videos on how to ma ..read more

November was not the month for making a lot of progress on my projects, but I did manage to finish a few of my Splendid Sampler II blocks. It's something at least, bringing my total finished blocks to 97 out of 100! YAY! Feeling really great about being so close to having all 100 blocks made! I might not get the quilt done by the end of the year but having all the blocks done would feel like a huge accomplishment! We challenged everyone everywhere to pick out 12 projects they wanted to accomplish in 2024. Projects of any type or size! Quilts, Crafts, Painting, Knitting, Crocheting, Home Dec, S ..read more

I love to rescue quilt blocks or unfinished quilt tops from antique stores or second hand shops and give them new life! I don't know the reason the original maker gave up on this project, but if I had to make a guess it's because none of the blocks were the same size! I have no idea how the blocks were meant to go together, so I made up my own pattern. Interesting things I found while working on this quilt top from the early to mid 1900's: 1. Some of the blocks were hand pieced, others were machine pieced and some were a combination of hand and machine piecing. 2. There was not a specific size ..read more

Watch all the way to the end to see two finished samples and see what I did with the extra half square triangle units leftover from piecing the top! This pattern is called "Charm Star" and I have slightly altered the directions to make it without the recommended ruler! The pattern calls for one charm pack, 3/4 yard background, 1/3 yard inner border, and 1 1/2 yards for an outer border and binding. One of the variations I made used two charm packs, 3/4 yard background and 3/4 yard for inner border and binding. Backing recommendations are 3 yards but check out the end of the video for a way to o ..read more
