Do you feel you could easily do a multi-day cycle tour on a standard manual bike and are wondering if you could ride a standard bike instead of an Ebike on our cycle tours? We used to offer ‘mixed’ bike tours where participants had the choice between a standard bike and an Ebike. These mixed groups turned out to NOT work well for anyone. It proved almost impossible for standard bike cyclists to keep up with a group of E-Bikers over a distance of 30-50 km. Even though the women who chose a standard bike were usually pretty fit, they still felt rushed. Often, they would cut a break short 'to ..read more

They proved such a hit that we added an extra one last season and now offer several dates on two different tours as Slow Hiking Tours! What do we mean by Slow Hiking? We strongly recommend that all our customers take out travel insurance – so it’s a definite YES from us! Last season four of our participants tested positive for Covid two days before tour start. Therefore, they could not participate - which was disappointing, unpleasant, and expensive for some, as three didn't have travel insurance. My experiences on a Sidetracks tour as a single hiker. Signing up to do a guided small group hike with a bunch of women I didn’t know, was a first for me. I had some spare time and thought I’d do something different and interesting, but what? I came across Sidetracks Women online and thought it was serendipitous a tour was starting in the next couple of weeks. Without thinking too hard about it, I signed up. After getting all my gear sorted, I met part of the group at the designated meeting point and off we went to pick up the rest. Some people on the trip knew each from other hikes with Side ..read more
