How to add another instance in SSRS 2022?

Hello, does anyone have any clue how to add another Reporting Services instance in SSRS 2022? I successfully set up 1 out of 2 instances, but how do I add the second? I'm stuck with the default "SSRS" one. On an older SSRS installation there were multiple instances that you could switch between. https://imgur.com/a/lB1zrFZ submitted by /u/Doochbagg [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Please can someone help I've tottally ran out of ideas, when I'm doing the ad prep command I'm getting an access denied error? I'm running cmd as admin with all the required roles in that account (Enterprise Admins, Schema Admin and Domain Admins) pointing it to look at the d: drive with the 2019 media on. I've checked permissions, tried running the command using the original administrator account with the same permissions (all the above) and tried running CMD as admin by right clicking CMD Going from 2016 Essentials to 2019 Essentials Many thanks! submitted by /u/DomPosted [visit reddit ..read more

Failover / load balancing from Windows Server to Linux

For a school project, we need to check if it is possible to do failover / load balancing from a Windows Server to Linux. We have set up failover & load balacing on two Windows Servers to do it for an IIS site. We've also set up two Linux machines to do Apache failover and load balacing, but now we should try to do it from Windows to Linux. Is this possible in some way? It does not matter if it is not that stable or not the best way possible, it's just for educational purposes. Save us from failing :) submitted by /u/ward_verduyn [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

DLP solution for file server.

Hello, I'm looking for a way to get notification of bulk deletion on a file server. The big issue here is - It can't cost any money, as the default mindset from upper management is "IT can't use money". I've been looking into FSRM, but i can't seem to find a way for it to notify me if a user deletes 100 items or more. Does anyone here know of a way to configure this on a file server. Prefer if it's a builtin option on Windows Server 2022. submitted by /u/BawsProduction [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Scenario: 30 users, AD properties Profile Path set to \\Fileserver\Users$\username, no GPO defined to manage folder redirection. End goal is to move user data to OneDrive. I've read a number of articles but they all reference having a pre-existing GPO that can be reverted to copy user data back locally and then use another GPO to sync local data to OneDrive. There is no GPO for this customer managing folder redirection. The previous system administrators have simply manually typed in the \\Fileserver\Users$\username into the profile tab->Profile path. Hello, I am very new to windows server and have been playing around and experimenting with it for a little bit. I have two questions related to Active Derectory. 1: How do I add a domain controller to a forest that already has a domain controller. 2: How do I change the IP address of a current domain controller from 127.0.0.1 ? Hello guys, I just received 2x 12 TB disks and I would like to make my data redundant -> if one disk fails, I would like to have my data available on the second disk. Currently, I have an ESXi hosting several VMs and one of them is a Windows Server 2022 hosting the File Share service. My file server is currently in a workgroup and i'm looking for a Windows native solution. Here are some solutions that came to my mind: Create a software RAID (Raid 1) on my file server It seems that I need to use Windows Storage Spaces. I read some comments and it seems to be complicated to make it work pr ..read more
