I have a script that transfers snapshots of a backup catalog once a week to an external HD. Unfortunately, the process breaks with the message "No access to backup set __scrip_name, error -2262 (catalog file in use by another device)". (text translated from German to English) aborts. I'm performing a restore that requires a few different tapes, the tapes are loaded into the quantum library which Restrospect can see, I've refreshed the environment but all of the tapes are greyed out, a few that I know have tapes in them say (Unknown) or empty and no matter what I do Restrospect will not take control of the library and switch tapes to find what it needs. I have had an issue for a while where the backup scripts in retrospect keep forgetting the automatic login credentials used to get to the network share. Has any one else encountered this, or know how to stop it? It is very frustrating when a backup script fails halfway through because retrospect has decided to forget the credentials. The error in the log is:   can't read, error -1116 (can't access network volume). As soon as I put the credentials back the script continues to run. Running retrospect single server. I am trying to figure out how to backup a Window's network file share to cloud. The network file share is a target for native SQL Server compressed backups handled outside of Retrospect. Example file share path is: \\fileserverX\SQLBackup. The file share contains around 30 TB of backups which represents 3 months of compressed SQL Server backups. The subfolder structure in the file share is: \\fileserverX\SQLBackup\SQLInstanceX. Folders are created inside of SQLBackup for every SQL instance that is being backed up. I am on Windows, using Retrospect 18.5.3.142. We have a Quantum 16 tape library with an LTO7 deck. The problem I am having is that when I restore files from tape, I know I don't have the tape I will need loaded, but I don't know exactly what tape that is until Retrospect loads every single tape that's in the library into the deck as if it's searching for the right tape, after it does that THEN it asks for the right tape. I am running Retrospect 18.5.3.132 on a Windows 10 Pro system with a Superloader 3 and an IBM Ultrium LTO 7 deck.  For the past few months up until the end of April, my two scripts with schedules for backing up my storage were running flawlessly. Suddenly, even before my LTO-7 tape is full (it only has 1.4 TB in it) Retrospect started asking for a new tape. After restarting the process a few times in hopes of it continuing to use the existing tape, I tried inserting a new tape. Was backing up just fine till this weekend. Now a job that took 4 1/2 hours to complete up till 10/18, now takes 24 hours since 10/20. It seems to be from my observation is the backup job completes normal but when I hit the closing stage it seems to take forever. We run to a attached storage unit Saturday thru Thursday, Friday we go to tape. It was the Saturday that the slowness started. We did upgrade to 16.5 on the 15th but did have 3 nights of good backups after that. I have since updated to 16.5.1 hoping that would help but nothing improved.
