So then it works.. unless I try to run httpd_z.exe from the command line. Then all hell breaks loose again as nothing is defined. I've been using uniformserver since 7.0.1 Orion (infact that is my preferred version which i still use along with a later version on a different port). For reasons unknown, you always rename apache.exe to something else - such as httpd_z.exe in the latest versions. Why is this? In Orion there was no easy way to create virtual hosts without restarting. By using "apache -k restart" all of apaches child threads will reload their configurations from httpd.conf when they have finished their current task - without apache itself being restarted. Hi First great that this is getting developed again - and that the source is now public One problem I always had is that I use Uniform Server for local development - and as such always wanted to use the .test and .localhost top level domains for development as they are reserved to prevent conflict (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.localhost). However EdHost.exe limits the top level domain to 2 or 3 letters (e.g. com, uk). Using UniServer Zero XI 11.3.1 I am trying to get a php script running using the cron functionality.   I can access my script using my browser and it runs successfully, but when it runs on the cron schedule it fails because it finds the mysqli extension is not loaded. I'm trying to migrate a local Wordpress Installation on Uniform Server. So far after doing a database backup, tried extracting all files replacing old ones, then importing the database backups, but same error. Also tried the line: innodb_force_recovery = 1 I'm afraid it didn't work either I did create a copy before attempting to upgrade, so there's no data loss, but I'm unable to properly upgrade from the old version.   ..read more

I have Uniform Server running quite well from a USB key.  Starting it using the "UniController BOTH" syntax generates Windows Firewall alerts. (Which would be a pain in the fanny for our users who lack computer skills...) I've looked at using UniService, but it requires the user to select the services to install.  Can all of this be done from a command line via a batch file? Alternatively, since I note that Windows Firewall alerts don't pop up on subsequent starts, I'm wondering about making the firewall rules in advance so users are not prompted.  Is this possible?  How ar ..read more

hello everyone! so i have been using wampserver for awhile now and i am interested in switching to uniform server! i copied my apache server folder over and the server starts properly and displays my site BUT when i copy mariadb 10.6.14 folder and attempt to start the server it asks for root password,so i enter it and it gives an error saying it cannot be started. i tried going to the mariadb website and doing a fresh install and it still wont work properly. so how would i go about transfering my php 8.1.20 and mariadb from wamp to uniform server? thanks! I have a completely fresh install of UniServerZ running on a week old install of Windows 8 Pro. When I start Controller and click Start Apache, the controller program seemingly locks and Windows shows "Not Responding" in the title bar. However, after a minute a popup displays saying "Failed to start Apache" and the controller resumes being responsive. The weird thing is, Apache seems to have started fine. The splash screen auto loads, and I seem to have a fully functioning server.   If I click Start MySQL the same thing happens, only after a minute I get "Failed to start MySQL". Again tho ..read more
