I have a phenix m1 XH X- Fast 1-6 oz. casting rod for punching, a phenix M1 MH Fast 1/4 -3/4 oz casting rod for general purpose, and a Phenix Maxim M Fast 1/8 - 3/4 oz Spinning for finesse. Are the latter two too similar? They don't feel terribly different. I was thinking of maybe down grading the spinning real to a ML or L 1/8-1/2 oz (or maybe 3/8 oz). Let me start off by letting everyone know that I only fish with spinning gear. I know some bass anglers feel like that is a deadly sin, but I simply haven't had the time to practice enough to feel comfortable using casting rigs, especially now that I'm fishing a lot more tournaments. I dug out an old baitcaster with the intent of learning how to use it, but I have a question about how to initially set it up. I understand the freespool switch and the flipping switch, but the brakes/tension are my big concern. The reel has the multi-position switch(1-10) labeled Magforce on the left, and the knob on the right underneath the star drag. What is the proper way to adjust these?
