I have recently purchased a Loop Cross SX 12’4 #7 4 piece rod and am looking for some line recommendations for it. I owned a Loop Cross S1 12’ #7 a few seasons back and although it was a nice fishing rod I couldn’t get over the fact that it felt like a wet noodle. The SX is billed as a Fast rod and when I did a search it would appear that a lot of people preferred the S1. I’ve not had a line on it yet, but it doesn’t feel too fast or stiff to me. I’ve owned a few loop reels and rods over the years and until recently have not had any real issues, well until I had an issue with a 7x section. This was replaced promptly and free of charge as they said it was possibly a manufactured issue. I’m pretty sure and I told them so it was more likely down to me rattling it off trees but no a free section was provided, and this was the second section of this rod they had replaced for free… which I have used very hard in the time I’ve had it. I just purchased a Loop Opti NXT in 15' 8wt. Not to many in use here in the states, would any of you have Scandi and Spey line recommendations for this rod? I have a Gaelforce Equalizer Spey 585 grains 54’ head line that I use on my Beulah Platinum in 13'8" 8wt that I plan to try on it. I also have a 565 gr 38’ Scandì head to try. Eventually I want to find a long head spey line for this rod but any reccomendations for Scandi or Spey lines are welcome ..read more

Well finally got my hands on one today. Loop ZT 13ft. 7 weight, 6 piece. Can only say i was blown away. Having recently tried Guideline, Hardy rods in 6 piece flavour the Loop ( in my hands ) is a much better casting tool. I already have a Cross SX fast 13ft 2in 8 weight which i really like, so put my 8 weight lines on the ZT, they just simply flew, with no effort.
