I came across a few garage sales and picked up a total of 3 interesting surf rods, all of which are in need of a good overhaul. I striped one down to just the bare blank but I'm not certain which blank it is since there wasn't any label. Hey evey one. I live up in Maine and mostly fish for trout/salmon (fly rod, spin, and trolling). Recently got in to fishing for stripers last year when they come up the kennebec river. I just got a St. Croix 9foot surf cast rod MMF. Penn 6000 reel with 30lb braid for my birthday. Is this gonna work alright for fishing the river or is it way overkill? Hi guys. I'm not a complete beginner I've done some fishing over the years. Mostly from piers and jetty. recently picked up a surf rod at a yard sale but cant find the exact rod online to find a value. Its a jarvis walker tuff tip 9'10" MH, line rate 15-40lb lure rate 3/4-4oz says its a penn world wide company. It has a clear tip like its a knock off ugly stick aswell. tried looking it up but have only been able to find other walkers but patterns and ratings just dont match it.
