And your admonishment helps....how?
Well, I was suggesting, that all of you let it go. Sorry for being too subtle.
Go on, beat the dead horse some more, if that's what floats your boat.

Thanks for the heads up on the book and also for the article. May wait for used copies to appear, but will get one eventually!
Later: ah, what the heck. Thriftbooks it is!

Seriously, even if he was referring to "The River....", what was the point of it? And your admonishment helps....how?

I use a thumbnail on my router table.
It's tricky to get the hight adjustment where you want it.
So I make as many seats as I can when I have the adjustment where I want it.
I don't have a clue about what I'm going to do with 50 seats of various woods but ...by golly, I have them.
Lew,
Just take one of your already morticed reel seat inserts, mount it on your morticing jig, and adjust the router so that the morticing bit fits into the already cut mortice. Only takes a minute or two to get it set up correctly. Been doing it that way for years.

I am just finishing off a Cattanach 7' 9" 3 piece #4 ( from his book pg. 231) which seems very nice so far, although I have yet to put the rings on.

Said before by others here - Young Men and Fire is the better book...
I've read this thread probably a dozen times.....
Better than what? This thread is about a new book hitting the shelves.
