There is currently a thread about "Carrying an untested gun". There were a lot of thoughtful posts there, and some of them were positively adamant about testing, and I'm not opposed to that even a little bit.
What struck me was the idea that someone would often change their carry gun, though nothing was said about the frequency of change. There may be good and valid reasons a person might change, but I wondered how many people change carry-guns and especially - how many have guns they...

I'm a new gun owner and my first handgun is a tx22. I had to send it in for repairs after only 32 rounds fired. I got FedEx confirmation that taurus received it 2 days ago but no notification from taurus. Will they notify me at all or should I call to check? Not sure what to expect from them. Ive read some horror stories about 12 week or more repair times and terrible customer service ..read more

Hi all,
I have a G3 in my shop that is missing the detent ball for the thumb safety. My question is there anyone here that can tell me what the diameter of the ball bearing for that detent is? Taurus will not sell me one nor tell me what the diameter is and I do not want to find the correct ball size by trial and error.
Thanks in advance

First post on here so hopefully I can find some help. I'm currently waiting on my 500 and it is a single action from factory. So currently with each trigger pull the cylinder spins but does not activate the hammer. Does anyone know what parts are needed to make into a double action. Also I'm looking for rubber grip alternatives with finger grooves compared to how it is now with a smooth grip any suggestions.
Thanks a ton ..read more

Hello Y'all,
I really don't want to answer questions about why I want to turn a 9MM into a .380 ACP.
My Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 has never once F2F or F2E, no stove pipes, nothing.
But, I'm 65 now, beginning to feel my joints, and I shouldn't have to explain this.
I want a smaller gun that's easier to conceal IWB, and won't snap itself right out of my hand when I pull the trigger.
So, I'm asking, can I turn a GX4 into a .380, I don't believe it would require a different barrel.
What may...

I never noticed this until very recently. Taurus is stamping serial on their barrels? Why? It's not unheard of, I've got a 1938 Tokarev that has uniform serial numbers stamped on assorted parts. It seems like overkill ..read more
