Hi All, I am new at this forum. I have a Volvo V40 D2 1.6 diesel, year 2025, and after 5 months it started overheating. I have red plenty of stories on different forums, but I never came across with the result or finding out what the problem was. On mine, it looks like the head gasket or the block is not cracked. I changed thermostat, changed the water pump, changed EGR cooler flushed the system. EGR cooler had a tiny hole causing creating air bubles in the system. Hello! I'm having an issue with my 2004 V40. The other day I started depressing the tailgate handle in the middle of the keyfob unlock process. So the handle was pressed about halfway when the unlock process hammered home, and I felt and heard something "clunk" like the inside mechanism became disengaged. Now the remote lock and unlock doesn't work on the tailgate. If i insert the key and turn it counter-clockwise, i can open the door. I have bought Volvo v40 2015 diesel automatic. It’s nearside left front headlamp not working on dipped beam xenon. How can I fix it? Someone was saying it’s need replacement of Ballast module. I am not sure. Where could I find the genuine ballast module. The last owner installed of Audi/Vw car module which I think worked for just 7-8months. I wanted to check my oil level in my volvo v40 (2017) i followed a tutorial and on the page where it should show oil level it just says oil level: low and there is no level indicator in the bar display thing, (attached image) I have not recieved any warnings or errors from the car nor has it told me to refill the oil, I just wanted to check it. Hi, i'm the owner of a V40 with led lights. Since some days, dazzlingh lights are not working ( no blue lamp on dash). I've checked the 5A fuse near seat and it is ok. I've also checked the 5A fuse near engine for lights and it is also ok. Furthemore all swithces from that this area of my car are not working (lights switch, rear lamp for fog, backlights.) Hi, My V40 has 'reduced engine performance' when I try to speed up quickly. This is happened for a week now and 2 days ago has displayed a yellow check engine light. I checked other forums for problems that the air filter could be broken to a spark plug issue (this is referring to the reduced engine performance). I took it to my local garage today and they have just called me saying that the car is not charging. Couple issues really, fist one, I keep getting random warning light on the dash. None of them stop the car and all the things they say are an issue are working e.g. day time running lights, tyre pressure, stop start (actually that doesn’t work), it has shown a brake issue and other stuff but all has been fine. Hi guys, just bought a 2004 Volvo v40 and surprise surprise I got another lemon! I love the car though but the speedometer and mileage counter work VERY intermittently. If the speedo doesn't work the mileage won't turn over either and it only works intermittently usually on the highway after I've been driving for a little bit. The car mostly drives fine but twice I've noticed the transmission slip a little bit just driving it like a grandma. I believe it's the transmission speed sensor as that can affect both the torque converter and the speedometer but I'm not sure. Are the two issues even re ..read more
