Hello there Volvo fans! I just purchased an older (1998) V70R wagon that has been taken pretty good care of. my check engine error is from the evap emissions. I am going to buy a new volvo gas cap and maybe the rubber flange at the base of the gas cap. A crack or gap in either of these may be causing the check engine light. Do any of you guys have experience with this? I would like some pointers before i just start swapping parts. I look forward to hearing from you ..read more

Hi, I recently bought my first Volvo, a 2012 V60 t5 R-Design, with currently about 77k km. Loving the car so far. When I start the car or when I'm standing in traffic, like the title says, I get a pretty strong gas smell inside. Any idea what might be the cause of this? Had this in no car before ..read more

Hello Last year i bought my very first Volvo V70, and I dont know how i could live 30 years without it But, lately I have been looking for some new wheels for the car, and this search brought something else to my attention. Im actually not sure what model I have. Because its listed as a V70 D5 AWD from 2006. BUT it has "Cross Country" written on the rear end. As far as i know, the V70 XC was replaced with the XC70 in 2001 I think. It has the same look as a normal V70. No plastic... What model is my car ..read more

Looking for a brake booster check valve and possibly a whole booster. Most of the time the brakes work just fine, but a couple of times each trip when I apply the brakes the pedal is very high and very hard, with no apparent braking effect. I then must pump and/or press harder to get the brakes to resume normal operation. I'm guessing the problem must be one of 3 possible components - the check valve, the position sensor, or the booster itself. I don't want to replace all 3 and... Brake problem '99 V70 n/a ..read more

Anything I should look for or be concerned about at that mileage. I am a volkswagen mechanic and do not really know much about these vehicles other than they are timing belt engines and Id like to keep it because i love volvo wagens and havent had a chance to own one. Appreciate the info ..read more
