Dumb question questions but haven't been able to find/get answers: 1. The dash illumination level is always very low. Have to manually increase it every time I get in the car. Found the setting and put it on manual level instead of auto (or the default) but that hasn't worked. How do I set it higher and get it to "stick"? 2. Is there a setting to automatically unlock all doors when the car is stopped and the drivers door is open? If I get out and shut the driver door the rear door remains... 2024 sonata sel hybrid dash light illumination level + another question ..read more

Hyundai Sonata EF (2003) Delta 2.7L V6 Transmissions: Proper Amount of Fluid

The Automatic Transmission takes 8.2 quarts (2.05 gallons) The Manual Transmission takes 2.2 quarts (2.1 liters) I was going to change the transmission fluid in my Sonata, and I noticed that a lot of websites say 11 quarts. This is simply way too much for the automatic transmission (unless maybe in a flush but come on guys, who's flushing ~20 year old auto transaxles?) So here's the pages... XG350 Performance Mods?

I just picked up an 02 XG350 this past Saturday and absolutely love it. I was sick of commuting in my 02 Focus ZX3 (great car by the way, very fun to drive, though a tad underpowered), the combination of sport tuned suspension + manual trans in typical NJ traffic was wearing me down. I wanted something comfy, somewhat luxurious, and automatic! My choices came down to the XG350, an 01 Maxima, and a 98 Volvo S70. Anyhow, my first question, how hard is it to upgrade the 02 XG350's front... XG350 Performance Mods ..read more

Advice Pressing Out a INSANELY STUCK Bushing

This Hyundai lower control arm has three different size bushings pressed in. Each is yucky and needs to go. I managed to replace two bushings using a bushing press kit. But the third simply will not budge... at all. I stop wrenching when I can lift my 200lb buddy (who serves as as dead weight bearing down on the lower control arm) off the ground. It's as if the bushing is welded into bore! A shop press is the... Advice Pressing Out a INSANELY STUCK Bushing ..read more

2006 Sonata GLS: P0711

2006 Sonata GLS 141k miles Cursory research within this forum and others shows the (Hyundai) P0711 code typically means the TCM isn't getting consistent signal from the transmission oil sensor; and this condition may be due to a faulty sensor a/o faulty harness (among a few other less-likely things). It seems the oil sensor and harness are separate parts in the '06; 46386-3A050 and 46308-3A550, respectively (Fun fact: Mid 2013, the oil sensor... 2006 Sonata GLS: P0711 ..read more
